    Drain Valves

Also known as stop cocks, install these valves on your tank for easy draining of air or fluid.
    Thumb-Screw Handle—Inline
Image of Product. Front orientation. Drain Valves. Drain Valves, Thumb-Screw Handle, Inline Handle.
Valves with a thumb-screw handle open by rolling the slip-resistant thumb screw between your fingers. Since these valves don’t have a wide handle, they fit in tighter spaces than valves with other handle styles.
Inline handles can be operated from any position. The handle surrounds the drain outlet, so liquids may splash onto your hands or the handle.
External Seal—Valves with an external seal are for higher flow applications than valves with an internal seal. They also have a longer valve stem, so they’re less likely to introduce contaminants from exposed threads.
    Brass Handle—Brass handles won’t corrode.
Brass Body—Valves with a brass body won’t corrode when venting air or draining water—even in wet or humid environments.

Wing Nut Handle—Inline (Wing Facing Inlet)
Image of Product. Front orientation. Drain Valves. Drain Valves, Wing Facing Inlet, Wing Nut Handle, Inline Handle.
Valves with a wing nut handle give you leverage to open tight, stubborn valves that have been sealed for long periods of time. The wings on these handles face inward, so they have a lower profile than handles with outlet-facing wing nuts.
Internal Seal—Valves with an internal seal have shorter stems than those with external seals, so they fit shorter clearances. However, they’re more likely to introduce contaminants to the tank from debris collected on the exposed threads.
Tube—Valves with a tube outlet can be attached to a tube or hose to route the flow of draining liquid.

    T-Handle—Inline
Image of Product. Front orientation. Drain Valves. Drain Valves, T-Handle, Inline Handle.
Inline handles can be operated from any position. The handle surrounds the drain outlet, so liquids may splash onto your hands or the handle.
Valves with a T-handle have two flat arms that provide more leverage and torque than thumb-screw handles and are more comfortable to grip than wing-nut handles. They have a removable handle, which can be disassembled for cleaning.
Internal Seal—Valves with an internal seal have shorter stems than those with external seals, so they fit shorter clearances. However, they’re more likely to introduce contaminants to the tank from debris collected on the exposed threads.

    Lever Handle—Side
Image of Product. Top orientation. Drain Valves. Drain Valves, Lever Handle, Side Handle.
Valves with a lever handle open the quickest—just rotate them 90°. However, they provide less control than handles that take multiple turns to open. A glance at the handle will tell you if it’s open or closed. Attach a tube or hose to the outlet to route the flow of draining liquid. Use the included cap to keep dirt and debris out of the valve.
Side handles are out of the way of the flow, so your hand and the handle stay dry.
Internal Seal—Valves with an internal seal have shorter stems than those with external seals, so they fit shorter clearances. However, they’re more likely to introduce contaminants to the tank from debris collected on the exposed threads.
Plastic Handle—Plastic handles resist oil, grease, and solvents. They’re lighter in weight than brass handles.
Brass Body—Valves with a brass body won’t corrode when venting air or draining water—even in wet or humid environments.

    Cable-Pull-Operated
Image of Product. Front orientation. Drain Valves. Drain Valves, Cable-Pull-Operated.
Cable-pull valves open with a tug. Open them at a distance to prevent injury from hot air. They work well in tight and hard-to-reach spots, such as under low-sitting tanks.
Internal Seal—Valves with an internal seal have shorter stems than those with external seals, so they fit shorter clearances. However, they’re more likely to introduce contaminants to the tank from debris collected on the exposed threads.

    High-Temperature Drain Valves

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Drain Valves. High-Temperature Drain Valves, Plastic Handle.

    Plastic Handle

Empty fluid from tanks in boiler rooms or heat transfer systems—these valves withstand higher temperatures than our other drain valves. Also known as stop cocks, their handle twists open to let liquid flow out. They have a spout that smoothly pours the draining liquid into buckets without splashing. The handle is positioned to be out of the way from the spout, so your hand stays dry.
Plastic Handle—Plastic handles have a knurled grip that’s comfortable and won’t slip as you turn it.
Stainless Steel Seal—Stainless steel seals resist corroding better than brass seals.
PTFE Seal—PTFE seals create a tighter seal than brass and stainless steel seals.
