Changeable-Size SDS-Max-Shank Masonry Core Drill Bits for Rotary Hammers
These bits allow you to switch to another size by changing only the bit body. They are hollow and cut with their outside edge for drilling large holes. The SDS-Max shank has three deep slots and two shallow slots for use with SDS-Max-drive rotary hammers. They cannot be used with SDS-Plus-drive rotary hammers.
Drill holes using simultaneous rotary and hammering action to break masonry material into tiny granules. This type of bit drills faster and penetrates material with less pressure than rotary-only bits. Also known as percussion or impact bits. To achieve maximum drilling depth, break up and remove the core every 4” before drilling deeper.
Drill bits include a pilot drill to make starting holes easier.

Hex-Shank Masonry Core Drill Bits for Rotary-Only Drilling

These hollow bits cut with their outside edge for drilling large holes. Instead of using a hammering action to break up masonry material, these bits drill with rotary action only, requiring more pressure to grind up material. Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and in hammer drills set to rotary-only mode. Do not use in hammering applications. Replaceable Carbide-Insert Drill Bits
Use these bits to drill a large number of holes with high precision. When the cutting edges dull, replace the carbide inserts (sold separately) instead of the entire bit. Each drill bit requires two inserts—one on the inner cutting edge and one on the outer cutting edge. Bits can be used in CNC machines with coolant-through technology; holes in the bit allow coolant to be channeled through the tool for more efficient chip evacuation.
