SDS-Plus-Shank Masonry Drill Bits for Rotary Hammers

The SDS-Plus shank has two deep slots and two shallow slots for use with SDS-Plus-drive rotary hammers. These bits cannot be used with SDS-Max-drive rotary hammers. Drill holes using simultaneous rotary and hammering action to break masonry material into tiny granules. This type of bit drills faster and penetrates material with less pressure than rotary-only bits. Also called percussion or impact bits.
Multi-point drill bits have five carbide points on the tip, which provide longer life and reduce vibration for drilling smoother, rounder holes than standard-point masonry drill bits.

Round- and Hex-Shank Masonry Drill Bits for Rotary-Only Drilling

Instead of using a hammering action to break up masonry material, these bits drill with rotary action only, requiring more pressure to grind up material. Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and in hammer drills set to rotary-only mode. Do not use in hammering applications.
When using bits with a maximum drilling depth of 10 1/2” or greater, take the bit out of the hole every 4” and remove debris before drilling deeper to achieve maximum drilling depth.

Chip-Clearing Round-Shank Masonry Drill Bits for Rotary-Only Drilling

A more controlled chip removal reduces heat buildup, making these bits good for use on brittle material such as block and brick. Instead of using a hammering action to break up masonry material, they drill with rotary action only, requiring more pressure to grind up material. Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and in hammer drills set to rotary-only mode. Do not use in hammering applications.
