Frequently used to make gears and bushings, these hard fiber rods can be readily machined and punched into custom parts. They are constructed from lightweight cotton fabric that's been chemically treated to make them hard and dense. Hard fiber is also known as vulcanized fiber.

Mold custom-shaped composite parts by layering your choice of fabric with an epoxy. The epoxy (sold separately) is a two-part resin that begins to harden in 15 hours and reaches full strength in 4 days. Finished composite pieces have a temperature range of 0° to 250° F.
Fabric with a twill weave provides equal strength in all directions.
Fabric with a unidirectional weave has most of its fibers running in one direction. This weave is preferred when making tubular parts, such as vehicle frames, where linear strength is required.
Carbon fiber fabric provides the highest strength of all our composite fabrics.
Stronger than plastic and aluminum, this is the lightest weight framing we offer. It has good resistance to chemicals and salt water. Slip the fittings over rails to construct custom railings, guard rails, storage racks, and shelving. Drill rails and connect fittings with the included hardware.
