Flame-Retardant Coatings

These coatings meet UL 723 and are rated Class A by ASTM E84—the highest rating available—for their ability to limit the spread of flames and generation of smoke. Use them in kitchens, furnace areas, and ships on plastic, metal, wood, and masonry. Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts.
Clear coatings are frequently used on wood—use one coat on sealed wood and two on unsealed. They can be used outside without breaking down, but prolonged exposure to UV light may cause them to yellow.
White coatings are frequently used on walls, ceilings, doors, and stairwells.

Flame-Retardant Coatings for Wood

These coatings meet UL 723 and are rated Class A by ASTM E84—the highest rating available—for their ability to limit the spread of flames and generation of smoke. Use them on structural lumber, decking, and wood shingles. Apply with a brush, pad, roller, or sprayer. Reapply every five years on exterior wood; coatings protect interior wood indefinitely. Once fully cured, they can be painted over with water-based paint.
