Grease

Use this general purpose grease to lubricate most machinery.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 2 is about the consistency of peanut butter. NLGI 3 is about the consistency of vegetable shortening.
Mineral-oil-based grease, derived from petroleum, is usually more economical than synthetic-oil-based grease.
Grease with lithium thickener offers good heat and moisture resistance. Grease with PTFE has small particles of PTFE that reduce friction and help the grease maintain its lubricity.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.
Heavy Duty Moisture-Resistant Grease

Waterproof and heat-resistant, this grease can be autoclaved without washing out of equipment. It's chemically inert, so it won't interact with process fluids.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 3.5 is between the consistency of vegetable shortening and frozen yogurt.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.
Petroleum Jelly

Brush on most metal surfaces to provide a layer of protection against corrosion.
Fed. Spec. petroleum jelly meets VV-P-236 for color and melting temperature.
Petroleum jelly lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which it will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.
Chemical-Resistant Grease

For use in applications where acids, bases, oxidizers, and fuels are present. This grease also meets ASTM G72, so it can be used with oxygen without igniting.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 00 is about the consistency of applesauce.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.
High-Speed Bearing Grease

Also known as spindle grease, use this in machine tools and other high-speed applications.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 2 is about the consistency of peanut butter. Grease with PTFE thickener has good heat, moisture, and oxidation resistance.
Grease with PTFE has small particles of PTFE that reduce friction and help the grease maintain its lubricity.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry. Nonmelting grease can be used at temperatures above the maximum temperature briefly, but then will break down more quickly.
Open Gear and Chain Grease

Tackier than gear box grease, this grease sticks to open gears and roller chain. It resists moisture for corrosion protection and can lubricate under heavy loads.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. Synthetic-oil-based grease lasts longer than mineral-oil-based grease and withstands a wider range of temperatures.
Grease with talc thickener is long lasting and moisture resistant.
Grease with moly (molybdenum disulfide) has excellent resistance to wear and can withstand high-load and high-pressure applications.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.
Electrical-Insulating Grease

Also known as dielectric grease, use insulating grease to lubricate and protect electrical systems. It resists water and corrosion. This grease can be used on most rubber and plastic.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 1 is about the consistency of tomato paste.
Dielectric strength measures the maximum voltage a grease can withstand without losing its insulating properties. The higher the dielectric strength, the better its quality as an insulator.
Grease lubricates most efficiently below the maximum temperature.
Electrically and Thermally Conductive Grease

A high silver content gives this grease excellent conductivity for applications where electricity and heat transfer are required. It is suitable for ESD (electrostatic discharge) and EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding applications.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 2 is about the consistency of peanut butter.
Electrical resistivity is a measure of how well a material opposes the flow of electricity. The lower the rating, the more electricity it conducts.
Thermal conductivity measures a material’s ability to transfer heat. The higher the rating, the more heat it transfers.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.

Antiseize Lubricants

Also known as thread lubricants, antiseize lubricants prevent threaded fasteners and close-fitting parts from locking together due to corrosion, contamination, or heat.
Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance. DuPont Molykote G-n Metal Assembly Paste offers excellent protection against wear and corrosion.
Moisture-Resistant Antiseize Lubricants

Prevent parts from locking or corroding together even when exposed to wet environments—these lubricants stay in place in the presence of water. Also known as thread lubricants, antiseize lubricants prevent threaded fasteners and close-fitting parts from locking together due to corrosion, contamination, or heat.
Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance.

Antiseize Lubricants for Light Bulbs

Prevent bulbs from sticking in sockets. Apply a thin coating of these lubricants with a cloth or your finger to the bulb's base before installation. They won't run, drip, or harden. Use with any kind of light bulb.

Solid and Paste Milling, Drilling, and Turning Coolants

An alternative to nearly dry machining, apply these coolants to tools before milling and machining to reduce heat with minimal cleanup. They’re often used with shallow drilling, reaming, and tapping, as well as on saw blades. Remove from tools and work surfaces with alcohol, methyl ethyl ketone, or a parts washer. They are chlorine free, for use where chlorine waste disposal is a concern, and sulfur free. Use at full strength.
Coolant in a jar is a paste. It can also be used as a bending and forming paste.

Assembly Lubricants

Coat tight-fitting metal parts, such as gears, clutches, and press-fit assemblies, with these lubricants before sliding them together to make assembly easier. Once assembled, they provide initial lubrication in equipment before oil has a chance to flow.
Mineral-oil-based lubricants, derived from petroleum, are more economical than synthetic-oil-based lubricants. Synthetic-oil-based lubricants last longer than mineral-oil-based lubricants.
Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance. Lubricants with graphite have additional pressure resistance and excellent temperature resistance. All Dupont Molykote lubricants have a high load-carrying capacity. Molykote M-77 Paste is commonly used on brakes and clutches; it is compatible with material that is damaged by mineral oil, such as natural rubber, SBR, and EPDM. As a paste it lubricates to 445° F; after drying, it continues to lubricate at temperatures up to 660° F. Molykote G-Rapid Plus Paste is often used to assemble threaded spindles, gears, screws, and pumps. It can be used as an initial lubricant.

Powder and Flake Lubricants

Made of graphite, these powders and flakes lubricate under heavy loads and high temperatures. They resist most chemicals and conduct heat and electricity.
Flake lubricants conduct heat and electricity better than powder. Use them dry or mix with oil and grease to increase their load-carrying capacity or improve their ability to conduct heat and electricity.
Heat Sink Compounds

Bond heat sinks to surfaces, eliminating air gaps for maximum heat transfer. These compounds are commonly used with transistors, diodes, rectifiers, and transformers. Product regulations restrict sales to the listed jurisdictions/areas.
Zinc-oxide compounds create a more secure bond than silicone compounds.
