Add products by description or other part number If you know what you need, but you don't know the McMaster-Carr part number, you can still place an order. Enter a brief description of the product or the manufacturer's part number in the product field of a new line, and we will prompt you to provide a more detailed description. |

Add your own reference to an order line To add references to your order, click Show Line References. A box will appear under the product descriptions where you can fill in your information. |

Change quantities To change the quantity after you have added a product to your order, click the quantity text box, highlight or delete the number, and type in the new quantity. |

Remove products from your order To remove a product from your order, click the X to the right of the product in the Current Order view. |

Add a purchase order number to your order The field for entering a purchase order is underneath the Order header. If you leave the field blank, we will identify your order by your name and the order date. |

Request a faster ship date If the shipping date we estimate is not soon enough, click Need this Sooner? Tell us when you need the product to arrive, then place your order. We will meet your requirements or let you know if we cannot. |

Add other instructions to your order If you need to provide additional instructions for your order, click + Additional Instructions to open a text box where you can describe what you need. Some examples of special instructions are,"Deliver by courier ASAP" or "Leave package outside the main entrance." Click SAVE when done. |

Print your order If you have not placed the order yet, click Print at the top of the order pad. |

Once you have placed the order, you can print it from the confirmation page by clicking the Print icon is in upper right. |

Save your order If you are logged in, or if your browser is set up to accept cookies, the site will save your current order until you place it. If you would like to save an order for later and start building a new order, click Save. If you have entered a purchase order, the site will save it under the purchase order name, or you can enter a new name for the order. It will then be listed under your saved orders. |

E-mail your order to someone else To send someone your order, click Forward. You will be able to send an e-mail to the address you designate that includes a link to view and place the order. Once you send the email, the order will no longer appear on your account. |

Delete an order To cancel an order before placing it, click Delete. Doing so removes all products, references, and instructions from your order. It also resets shipping and billing information to your defaults. If you need to cancel an order you have already placed, contact us with the order information. |

Choose a delivery method To choose a different delivery method you must first navigate to the Order screen. Place your cursor over the Delivery section of your account information and click. The default delivery method is Ground. In most of the United States and much of Canada, Ground deliveries arrive the same or next business day for standard ground rates. Some orders are too large or too heavy for our parcel carriers. We will ship those via motor freight, possibly over-riding your default or chosen carrier. If we are shipping your order outside of the U.S. and Canada, we will ship small parcels via DHL and larger shipments through one of our forwarders. See more information about international orders. |

Change your delivery or billing address To deliver or bill an order to a different address, place your cursor over the Delivery address or Billing address section of your account information and click into the field. You will then be able to choose from a list of your saved addresses or enter a new address. To edit or delete a saved address, hover on the address you want to change or delete and Edit and Delete controls will show to the right of the address. |

Choose a default delivery or billing address To select an address as your default delivery or billing address, select an address in their respective sections. After selecting, the field will collapse and a checkbox will display underneath the address. Please check it if you want to make the selected address your default. |

Change your invoice delivery (postal, e-mail, or both) To select or change where you receive your invoice or receipt, place your cursor over the Invoice or Receipt section - the header changes based on your Payment preference. To receive mailed invoices, select your Billing address option. Please note that we will not mail a copy of your invoice to your company unless Mail is selected. To change or delete an email address, hover on the email address and Edit and Delete controls will show. |

Direct deliveries within your company You can add an attention name or department to your shipping or postal billing address. Underneath Shipping address and Billing address are Attention fields. Hover over the fields and click into them to select or add inputs. |

Change your payment method (credit card or open terms) To select or change a payment method, point to the Payment section underneath the Billing Address. You can choose between open terms and credit card. If you already have credit cards saved, those will show as options underneath Payment. |

Save credit cards We can safely store your credit card information. After you give us your credit card number the first time, it is secured in a restricted offline database. The card number is never revealed on the website or on our web servers. Your credit card information is sent securely through industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. If you keep the box next to Save for Future Orders checked, we will use that as your default payment method for the next order. After you enter the card, we will just show you the type of card and the last four digits or a nickname of your choosing. To change an expiration date on a card you have already saved, click Edit. To remove it from your online profile, click Delete. |

Place an order We accept orders via phone, fax , e-mail , EDI, and this website. You do not need to use McMaster-Carr part numbers to order. After you place your order, we will send you an e-mail acknowledgement. |

Order delivery times Most orders are delivered the same or next business day at standard ground rates. More than 98% of the products ordered are shipped from inventory. We use many different carriers in order to provide you with fast deliveries, but if you need a special delivery or would like to pick up your order at our Will Call counters, please let us know. If you prefer a certain carrier, just select Other in the shipping method tool and enter that carrier's name. |

Shipping orders outside of the United States We can ship our products throughout the world using air and ocean transportation services. We evaluate international orders from all new customers to determine whether we can accept them. |

Sales tax If you have a tax exemption certificate, such as a resale form or other exemption, please e-mail, fax, or mail us a completed, signed copy. Each state is governed by specific requirements for sales/use tax. Please reference the appropriate Department of Revenue websites in your State, if applicable for further information. |

We have Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) available on request for all products classified as hazardous by OSHA. Additional SDSs, along with 3-D models and technical drawings, are available for some products on our website. |

Additional information about previous orders Click on Order History at the top of the website to view information about your previous orders.
