Paint metal surfaces to stop rust from starting and prevent existing rust from spreading. Scrape rusty areas clean before application. Although primer is not required for use on all materials, it can be used to prepare any surface to maximize the life and corrosion resistance of paint.
Silicone Rubber—Silicone rubber paint stops corrosion on high-temperature surfaces, such as smokestacks, incinerators, heaters, and heat exchangers.
Aerosol Can—Paint in an aerosol can does not require a primer.
2 hr. Overall Dry Time—To apply paint with a 2-hour overall dry time, spray paint on, and then increase the temperature two to three times (450° to 650° F), allowing surface to cool between firings.

    Heat-Radiating Protective Coatings

Able to withstand temperatures of up to 2000° F, these coatings absorb heat and release it later. Use them to improve the thermal efficiency of heaters, furnaces, and ovens to reduce energy costs. Also known as high-emissivity coatings, they have an emissivity rating of 0.9—the closer a material’s rating is to 1.0, the more heat it will absorb and later radiate. Apply with a brush or sprayer.

    Wear-Resistant Protective Coatings for Metal

Also known as brushable ceramic, these coatings create a hard, low-friction surface that resists corrosion. They're often used on liquid processing equipment, such as pump casings, impeller blades, and valves, to protect worn areas and reduce turbulence. They’re also used on heat exchangers, condensers, and chutes. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts.

    High-Pressure Leak-Repair Sticks for Metal

Image of Product. Front orientation. Surface Fillers. High-Pressure Leak-Repair Sticks for Metal .
To stop leaks in metal tanks and equipment without draining the contents, heat the area with a heat gun or torch to melt the stick and form a permanent seal. The resulting patch can withstand pressure up to 600 psi. These sticks meet NSF/ANSI 61 safety standards for use with drinking water systems.

    Aerosol

    Can

Protect metal parts from corrosion. Also known as rust-inhibiting film, these coatings can be removed with a simple degreaser or mineral spirits.
Mineral Oil—Mineral oil coatings don’t fully dry, so they leave a tacky film.
250° F Maximum Temperature—Coating with a maximum temperature of 250° F lubricates as it protects and can be used as a start-up lubricant for stored machinery.
Cannot Be Sold To—Coatings that cannot be sold to the regions listed are restricted by product labeling requirements or exceed local regulatory limits on VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

Conductive Surface Filler Pens for Electronics

Image of Product. Front orientation. Surface Fillers. Conductive Surface Filler Pens for Electronics, Epoxy.

    Epoxy

Dispense ready-to-use conductive liquid to fill pits and small gaps on circuit board components. These pens are also used to sketch and repair conductive pathways.
Silver Filled—Silver epoxy pens are the most versatile—use them for any type of repair as well as for repairs that require excellent conductivity, such as connecting through holes on circuit boards without adding jumpers, wiring, or solder. Since they have the lowest surface resistivity, they allow the most current to pass.
Cannot Be Sold To—Product labeling requirements restrict sales to the listed areas.

    Low-Outgassing Thermal Control Coatings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thermal Control Coatings.
Ideal for use with sensitive electronics and optics, these coatings give off almost no volatile emissions and maintain a stable temperature. They’ve been tested to meet ASTM E595, a low-outgassing standard used by NASA. Originally developed as a coating for spacecrafts, they release internal heat and reflect external heat. Since these coatings are inorganic, you can store them at room temperature. They’ll also last longer on your equipment than organic coatings.

    Protective Coating Primers

Image of Product. Front orientation. Protective Coating Primers.
Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating. These primers create a base layer that bonds with your top coat to extend the life of your powder coating. Use a powder coating sprayer to apply these primers directly to unpainted metal and cure in an oven.
Epoxy—Epoxy primers are good general purpose primers for most metal.
Zinc-Rich Epoxy—Zinc-rich epoxy primers have excellent corrosion resistance, so they’re often used to protect metal that rusts easily, such as steel and cast iron.

A high silver content allows these surface fillers to conduct electricity and heat. Use them to fill gaps and rebuild missing material on electrical connections or to assemble new components. They come as two parts. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts.
Thermal Conductivity—Thermal conductivity measures a material’s ability to transfer heat. The higher the rating, the more heat it transfers.
Electrical Volume Resistivity—Electrical volume resistivity measures how well a material opposes the flow of electricity. The lower the rating, the more electricity it conducts.
