These hollow bits cut with their outside edge for drilling large holes. The SDS-Max shank has three deep slots and two shallow slots for use with SDS-Max-drive rotary hammers. They cannot be used with SDS-Plus-drive rotary hammers. Drill holes using simultaneous rotary and hammering action to break masonry material into tiny granules. This type of bit drills faster and penetrates material with less pressure than rotary-only bits. Also known as percussion or impact bits. The included pilot drill makes starting holes easier.

These bits allow you to switch to another size by changing only the bit body. They are hollow and cut with their outside edge for drilling large holes. The shank has 12 splines for use with a spline-drive rotary hammer. Drill holes using simultaneous rotary and hammering action to break masonry material into tiny granules. This type of bit drills faster and penetrates material with less pressure than rotary-only bits. Also called percussion or impact bits.

These hollow bits cut with their outside edge for drilling large holes. Instead of using a hammering action to break up masonry material, these bits drill with rotary action only, requiring more pressure to grind up material. Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and in hammer drills set to rotary-only mode. Do not use in hammering applications. To achieve maximum drilling depth, break up and remove the core every 4” before drilling deeper.
Pilot drills (sold separately) make starting holes easier.

Reduce the chance of chipping and cracking when drilling in glass and ceramic. These hollow bits are diamond-coated for long life and fast cutting. They are for use in drill presses only and require an adapter (sold separately). Attach the threaded nut to the adapter, then install the adapter into the chuck on a drill press. Coolant, such as water, is required when drilling with these bits. The size listed is the bit's OD.
