Place on the back side of your workpiece to act as a support when you strike it. Also known as dolly blocks.
A long handle lets you access hard-to-reach spots. Place the block on the back side of your workpiece to act as a support when you strike it. Also known as dolly blocks.

Hammer and shape metal on these anvils. The heavier the anvil, the more effectively your striking tool will form your workpiece.
Choose cast iron anvils for occasional use.
Forged carbon steel anvils have better strength and rebound than cast iron, so they are less likely to chip or deform.

Place against the face of your workpiece and strike with a hammer. The blow will transfer to the workpiece without damaging the finish. Also known as dinging spoons, these tools are often used to smooth ridges and dings in sheet metal.
Style B have large, slightly curved faces for efficient finishing and shaping of sheet metal edges.
Hold any shape workpiece steady while you pound on it with a hammer. These bags are commonly used for initially shaping sheet metal—also known as roughing—before it’s finished on a solid surface such as a forming block, dolly, or anvil. Bags are made of leather for durability.
Hand-held bags fit in your palm for forming small pieces, and a strap keeps it secure in your hand. They come filled with lead shot.
Fill tabletop bags with No. 9 lead shot (sold separately) or sand. Sand is cheaper, but doesn’t conform to a shape as well as lead shot. When filling the bags with shot, leave enough room for it to be displaced during forming.
Remove pins from workpieces by positioning the pins over the holes in these hardened steel blocks and tapping them out using a punch and hammer. Each block has a range of hole sizes to accommodate different pin diameters. The V-groove in the middle of the block allows for pin removal in the same way from round and angled workpieces. These blocks can be used as a drill guide or as an anvil for bending or forming small parts. Also known as bench blocks.
