Use this cable for complex data and signal transmission, such as in high-speed computers. It has braid and foil shielding that provides excellent protection against signal interference from nearby equipment and devices. The industry designation is CM and CMG, so it’s approved for in-wall installation and has flame-resistant insulation. It has an uninsulated ground wire that is not counted in the number of wires.

Twisted-Pair Data Communication Cable

This cable has twisted pairs of wires that cancel signal interference from multiple transmission lines, as well as foil and braid shielding over the entire cable. It's often used to transmit data in high speed computers near variable-frequency drive motors, where voltage fluctuations and current spikes can distort signals. The industry designation is CM and CMG, so it’s approved for in-wall installation and has flame-resistant insulation. The uninsulated ground wire is not counted in the number of wires.

Also known as plenum cable, this CL2P and CMP cable has low-smoke insulation and can be used without conduit in duct work and above a drop ceiling. Use it to transmit audio, video, and data signals.

RG-6/U cable is good for medium to high frequency transmissions and is often used in satellite signal transmission. RG-58/U and RG-59/U cable is good for low frequency transmissions such as radio signals. RG-62A/U cable is often used in computer networks and electronics.

Shielded cable has a layer of braid that blocks signal interference from nearby equipment and devices. Double shielded cable has a layer of braid and foil shielding for better protection against signal interference than foil alone. Use it in environments with high signal distortion, such as near transformers, generators, and heavy duty motors.
