![](/prerenderstable/mvPRE/contents/gfx/imagecache/694/6948k891-@halfx_636746943359357900.png?ver=imagenotfound)
Connect batteries in vehicles and generators.
Strand count is the number of strands followed by the size of the individual strand.
Wire with a PVC plastic insulation resists fuel and oil.
Wire with an EPDM rubber insulation is ultra-flexible for use in applications that require tight turns. The insulation resists abrasion and oil.
Wire with a cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) insulation is ultra-flexible and withstands high heat, making it suitable for applications such as vehicle engine wiring.
SAE wire meets standards for low-voltage wiring in vehicle electrical systems.

- Temperature Range: 0° to 220° F
Connect batteries in generators, forklifts, and other vehicles in corrosive environments. Also known as marine wire, this copper wire is tin plated to resist corrosion from salt water, battery acid, and oil. Designed for boats, it's a good choice for use outdoors. The PVC insulation stands up to fuel and oil. Strand count is the number of strands followed by the size of the individual strand.

600V AC Stranded Wire: 0° to 190° F
600V AC/600V DC Stranded Wire: -40° to 190° F
600V AC/600V DC Metric Stranded Wire: -40° to 220° F - Insulation: PVC Plastic
More flexible than standard wire, this wire is often used for internal appliance wiring. The strand count is the number of strands followed by the size of the individual strand. The higher the number of strands, the more flexible the wire. Also known as MTW wire, it’s rated UL 1063 for machine tool wiring.
Metric wire is also known as Harmonized European Wire and meets HAR H07V-K for size (mm²), material, and voltage. It can also be used on North American electrical panels and machines.

Battery Power Cords
Connect batteries to each other.
Clamp × lug and lug × lug cords also connect batteries to electrical systems.
Cords with post terminals or threaded stud terminals connect two or three batteries in parallel for maximum starting power. Connect the positive terminals together and the negative terminals together to get the combined capacity (in amp-hours) of the batteries—battery voltage remains the same.
