    About Wire and Cable
    industrial info icon

Compare wire vs. cable and choose the right option based on gauge, number of conductors, insulation, and current rating.

    High-Temperature Power Cable

When others can't take the heat, this cable delivers power in ovens, furnaces, steel mills, and foundries. The PTFE jacket won't degrade and weaken as temperatures rise. It also resists abrasion, chemicals, oil, and moisture.
Shielded—Shielding stops these cables from acting as antennas that emit electromagnetic interference, which could disrupt nearby equipment such as control or data cables.
Fiberglass Fabric over PTFE and Mica Tape—A layer of mica tape, naturally heat resistant and electrically insulating, delivers superior protection against high temperatures.

    High-Temperature Lead Wire

Image of Product. Front orientation. Lead Wire. High-Temperature Lead Wire.
    Even at 480° F—hotter than some industrial ovens—this wire’s insulation won’t melt.
Ceramic Fabric Outer Jacket—Wire with a ceramic fabric outer insulation withstands the hottest temperatures of our offering, so you can safely run it near open flames. It’s flame rated VW-1 to prevent the spread of fire. This wire won’t become brittle or crack from chemicals. Bend it and it stays in place.
Stranded Wire with Fiberglass Fabric Outer Jacket and Mica Inner Insulation—Wire with a fiberglass outer and mica inner insulation is the common choice for steel mills, iron mills, and glass manufacturing. You may know it as MG wire.
Stranded Wire with Fiberglass Fabric Outer Jacket and PTFE Inner Insulation—Wire with a fiberglass outer and PTFE inner insulation won’t corrode from moisture, so it’s often used in industrial drying equipment. It also won’t become brittle or crack from chemicals. This wire is commonly known as TGGT wire.
Silicone-Coated Fiberglass Fabric Outer Jacket—Wire with a silicone-coated outer insulation shields your skin from fiberglass particles when handling the wire.

    High-Temperature Continuous-Flex Control Cable

Image of Product. Front orientation. Control Cable. High-Temperature Continuous-Flex Control Cable.
This silicone-insulated cable bends and flexes in temperatures up to 350° F without degrading signal. Compared to most other continuous-flex cables, it will keep moving in areas twice as hot. This cable is often used inside cable carriers in feeding lines for blast furnaces and in automated welding and cutting systems. It resists abrasion and won’t break down from exposure to chemicals and UV light.
Unshielded—Choose unshielded wires when electromagnetic interference (EMI) isn't a concern. Equipment such as motors and pumps may have voltage fluctuations and current spikes that distort signals.

    Low-Voltage High-Temperature Lead Wire

Image of Product. Front orientation. Lead Wire. Low-Voltage High-Temperature Lead Wire.
Rated to 50 volts AC/DC, this wire is often used in small electronics and robotics. It’s also known as hook-up wire.
FEP Outer Jacket—Wire with FEP insulation is chemical resistant.
Silicone Rubber Outer Jacket—Wire with silicone rubber insulation is ultra-flexible for use in applications that require tight turns. It also withstands moisture.
Silver-Plated Copper Wire—Silver-plated wire is stronger and more corrosion resistant than bare wire.

    Spool

Bend this wire and it will stay in place. It is often used as safety lock wire. From marine hardware to chemical-processing equipment, 400 nickel is widely used for its strength, weldability, and formability. Comparable to Monel, this nickel-copper alloy will stand up to highly corrosive environments, such as those involving salt water, sulfuric acid, and alkalies.

    Ultra-High-Temperature Niobium Wire

Image of Product. Front orientation. Niobium. Ultra-High-Temperature Niobium Wire.
This niobium wire has a higher melting point than most other metal, so it’s also known as refractory metal. It's highly conductive, corrosion resistant, and maintains its strength even at high temperatures. At low temperatures, it becomes a superconductor. This wire holds up in a variety of tough conditions including jet engines, pipelines, and semiconductor manufacturing.
