Once aftercoolers and separators have removed the bulk of the water, use these dryers to remove any remaining moisture in your air line. To reuse saturated desiccant, heat it in an oven at its reactivation temperature—you'll know it's dry when the color changes. Install these dryers after an oil filter to protect the desiccant.

    Moisture Absorbing Breather Vents

Keep moisture, dirt, and debris from entering your oil reservoirs. The silica gel inside these breather vents absorbs moisture from the air, preventing rust from forming inside your tanks. The gel changes from blue to pink as it becomes saturated, letting you know it needs to be replaced. A second filter blocks dust and other particles from getting inside. These breather vents allow air to flow in and out of your lubrication system, keeping excess vacuum or pressure from building up in cylinders, gear boxes, and tanks.
    Nylon and Polycarbonate Body—NPT Male
Image of Product. Front orientation. Breather Vents. Moisture Absorbing Breather Vents, Nylon and Polycarbonate Body—NPT Male.
Breather vents with a plastic body are clear, so a quick glance will tell you if the gel is saturated. Unlike steel versions, which can be rebuilt, the entire unit must be replaced when fresh gel is needed.

    Repair Kits

For an extended service life, use breather vents with a steel body. They are stronger than breather vents with plastic bodies and hold up better when exposed to chemicals. A window lets you check the color of the gel.
Repair Kits—No need to replace the entire unit when the gel is saturated—use rebuild kits to add fresh gel and to replace the window, filters, and gaskets.

Norgren Modular Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers

Image of Product. Front orientation. Compressed Air Dryers. Norgren Modular Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers.
For use with Norgren modular compressed air systems, once aftercoolers and separators have removed the bulk of the water, use one of these desiccant-filled dryers to remove any remaining moisture in your air line. Install after an oil filter to protect the desiccant. They have a clear bowl so you can see inside to monitor contents. To reuse saturated desiccant, heat it at its reactivation temperature until it returns to its dry color.
Joiner Clamps—Use a joiner clamp (sold separately) to connect your dryer to another Norgren modular component.
End Block Sets—End block sets (sold separately) allow you to swap out filter/regulator/lubricator components without unthreading your air line connections. The blocks remain connected to your pipe while you replace components between them.

Install these dryers just before air-powered tools as final protection from water and particles and throw them away when you’re done. They have a clear bowl so you can see inside to monitor the desiccant. When the desiccant becomes saturated, it changes color to indicate that the dryer should be changed.

    High-Pressure Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers

Image of Product. Front orientation. Compressed Air Dryers. High-Pressure Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers.
Get dry compressed air in high-pressure systems—these dryers have a maximum pressure rating of 300 psi. Once aftercoolers and separators have removed the bulk of the water, they remove any remaining moisture in your air line. Install after an oil filter to protect the desiccant. They have a sight glass so you can see inside the bowl to monitor contents.
Desiccants—Desiccant (sold separately) is required to remove moisture from air. To reuse saturated desiccant, heat it at its reactivation temperature until it returns to its dry color.

    Rechargeable Small-Space Dehumidifiers

Image of Product. Front orientation. Dehumidifiers. Rechargeable Small-Space Dehumidifiers.
Place these dehumidifiers in small spaces to protect moisture-sensitive materials such as photo lenses or 3D printing filaments. They absorb moisture with a silica gel that changes color, letting you know when they’re saturated. While they don’t need a battery or power cord during use, you do plug them in to dry them out—unlike other desiccants, they don’t require an oven.

    Desiccants for Compressed Air Dryers

Restore moisture-trapping power to your compressed air dryer by replacing spent desiccant beads. You can reuse these beads by heating them in an oven at their reactivation temperature. If they return to blue, they’re still usable. Once they stay pink, it’s time to replace them.

Prevent damage to air-powered tools and equipment—these dryers remove water, compressor oil, and particles from your air supply. The dryer and oil filter share the same cartridge to save space and reduce downtime when changing them. No need to mess with desiccant beads. Install them after separators and aftercoolers, which remove the bulk of the moisture.
When selecting a dryer, keep in mind that the larger the desiccant capacity, the longer they last between cartridge changes.
Opaque Bowl with Sight Glass—Dryers with an opaque bowl have a sight glass, so you can monitor contents. Their twist-on design allows for fast, clean, tool-free maintenance.
Clear Bowl—Dryers with a clear bowl are visible from all angles. They have a silica gel desiccant that changes from blue to pink, making it easy to know when to replace the cartridge. Disassembly is required to access the desiccant.
Air Dryers/Filters/Regulators—Dryers with a regulator monitor and adjust the flow of air.
Shutoff Valve—Dryers with a shut-off valve stop airflow when not in use to extend the life of the desiccant.
Styles A-D—Styles A-D have a particle filter before the dryer to remove large particles and protect the desiccant to extend its useful life.
Style E—Style E filter fine particles in the same cartridge as the dryer and oil filter. Install them vertically in your compressed air line so any water vapor collecting drains properly.

Disposable Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers with Filters for Oil and Particle Removal

Image of Product. Front orientation. Compressed Air Dryers. Disposable Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers with Filters for Oil and Particle Removal.
Use these dryers with filters to protect air-powered tools from water, oil, oil vapor, and particles, then throw them away when you're done. They have a polyurethane housing that has excellent resistance to synthetic compressor lubricants, solvents, acids, and chemicals. The bowl is clear so you can monitor the desiccant. When it becomes saturated, it changes color to indicate it should be replaced. Install in your air line just before the tool you want to protect.

Chemical-Resistant Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers with Filters for Oil and Particle Removal

With a polyurethane bowl and housing, these dryers resist synthetic compressor lubricants, solvents, acids, and other chemicals in your compressed air line. They have a clear bowl so you can monitor contents and the desiccant, which changes color when it needs to be replaced. These dryers use clay desiccant to remove moisture, oil, and particles—no need for a separate filter and dryer. Place them down the line from aftercoolers and separators, which remove most of the water first.
