Also known as mild steel, low-carbon steel is easy to machine, form, and weld. It's widely fabricated into parts that don’t require high strength, such as frames, supports, and conduit.
Stress-Relieved Heat Treatment—Tubes that are stress relieved minimize warping during machining.
Seamless—Seamless tubes are stronger than welded tubes.
DOM—DOM (drawn over mandrel) welded tubes are stronger than ERW (electric resistance welded) tubes.
Heat Treatable—Heat treatable tubes can be surface hardened.

Weldable 4130 Alloy Steel Round Tubes

Also known as chrome-moly steel, these 4130 alloy steel round tubes have low carbon content for good weldability. They’re often used for roll cages and frames. To increase their wear resistance, you can harden them with heat treating.

These cast nylon 6 tubes are easier to machine than other standard nylon 6/6 rods. They’re also better electrical insulators. Use them to make pulleys, bushings, and bearings. This material is comparable to Nylatron and Nycast.

Impregnated with oil, these tubes remain slippery over time. Use them to fabricate pulleys, bushings, and bearings for use in hard-to-reach areas where adding a lubricant would be difficult. Because they are made of cast nylon 6, they are easier to machine than standard nylon rods, plus they’re better electrical insulators. This material is comparable to Nycast and Nyloil.

Corrosion-Resistant 954 Bearing Bronze Round Tubes

One of the most corrosion-resistant bearing bronze alloys, 954 withstands everything from sea water to sulfuric acid. It's often turned into bearings and valve bodies for demanding environments such as salt mines. Also known as aluminum bronze. If you need similar corrosion resistance with even greater strength, consider 955 bearing bronze instead.

Oil-Embedded 841 Bearing Bronze Round Tubes

With a porous surface that releases oil over time, this bronze lubricates itself. Turn it into parts that you can't easily access to relubricate, such as bearings, well pumps, and turbine blades. The oil may burn away if temperatures climb too high, however. For extreme heat up to 700° F, consider graphite-embedded bearing bronze instead.
