    Fire Extinguishers for Electrical Equipment

    Douse fires without harming sensitive electronics. These extinguishers have a nonconductive spray that won’t leave powder or residue behind. All are rated to UL Class B and C standards for fire protection. Class A and B ratings also include a number; the higher the number, the greater the firefighting power.
    Most extinguishers come with a bracket for mounting.

    Halotron—Halotron extinguishers can propel their agent three times farther than carbon dioxide extinguishers, so you can stay at a safe distance from flames. Often used in data centers and server rooms, they can reach fires behind equipment and other obstacles.
    Halotron BrX—Halotron BrX extinguishers have a more concentrated agent than standard Halotron extinguishers, so you can put out fires with a smaller amount. They’re often used in confined spaces and areas where weight matters, such as airplanes.
    Surface Mount—Surface brackets hold an extinguisher upright on a wall or other flat surface.
    Vehicle Mount—Vehicle brackets are more secure than surface brackets—they keep extinguishers from shifting while you’re in motion.

    Water Extinguisher—Water extinguishers come empty. Fill them with water and pressurize with a compressed air or nitrogen source that has a 100 psi capacity. Refill them as often as you need.
    Water Mist Extinguisher—Water mist extinguishers come charged with a deionized water solution, which they spray in droplets so fine that they won’t conduct electricity. They’re rated Class C for use with electrical equipment. These extinguishers are often used in chemical labs, clean rooms, and other spaces with sensitive equipment that could be damaged by dry chemicals.

    When a fire starts, these sprinkler heads automatically release water to put it out. Choose a head with the same trigger type and temperature rating as the other heads in your sprinkler system. To comply with NFPA standards, use a sprinkler-head wrench or installation socket (both sold separately) to install and maintain these heads.

    Block the gap between a sprinkler head and the wall or ceiling. Also known as escutcheons, these plates make sure rising heat sets off your sprinklers instead of escaping through the gap.
