Bearings allow these hinges to open and close doors smoothly. Only one cutout (mortise) is needed to mount them—the offset design allows surface mounting the door leaf and mortise mounting the frame leaf. These hinges are often used when it is difficult to mortise the frame, such as when hanging a hollow door on a solid frame. All hinges have mounting holes that form an industry-standard half-moon shape. Use them on doors with or without a door closer.
