Pressure Switches










The traditional pressure switch. These power equipment, activate controls or alarms, or kick-off other actions when they reach a set pressure. Larger than compact pressure switches, they're easier to wire. These switches are single pole, double throw (SPDT) and can be installed to turn one circuit from off to on (normally open) or from on to off (normally closed).
NEMA 1 rated switches should only be used indoors. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X rated switches can be used in dirty and wet areas exposed to washdowns and the weather. NEMA 4X also has increased protection against corrosion, similar to 304 stainless steel. IP65 rated switches can be lightly rinsed. IP66 switches withstand washdowns.
Styles H and L have internal and external threads, so you can attach these switches to a male or female pipe connection.
Styles A-C, E-J, and L meet at least one safety standard.
Switches with a cover protect against impact and keep dust off the switch.

Dual-Setpoint Pressure Switches

Trigger two different automated processes, each with their own set pressure. These switches could, for example, turn one pump on to empty a tank when the pressure gets too high and another to fill the tank when the pressure drops too low. Or use them to trigger an alarm before turning off a pump. These have two single pole, double throw (SPDT) switches and can switch each circuit from off to on (normally open) or on to off (normally closed).
NEMA 4X and IP66 rated, these switches seal out dust and water from washdowns and weather, and they resist corrosion. They are UL listed, CSA certified, and CE marked to meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.

Compact Pressure Switches
With a round body that’s at least one-third thinner than traditional pressure switches, these fit in tight, cramped spaces. They’re often built into pumps and hydraulic systems with limited space in order to turn equipment on and off, activate automated controls, or signal alarms when they reach a set pressure. These switches are single pole, double throw (SPDT) and can either turn one device from off to on (normally open) or on to off (normally closed). They also meet at least one American, Canadian, or European safety standard.
Switches with an external setpoint adjustment have an external ring, so you can set the pressure quickly by hand. NEMA 1 rated switches protect against corrosion. NEMA 6 and IP67 rated switches seal out dust and water from washdowns and temporary submersion.

Adjustable-Reset Pressure Switches
Choose when these switches reset to control the pressure range between when they activate and deactivate, commonly referred to as deadband and differential. You can adjust their reset point anywhere along the setpoint range. When they reach the set pressure, these switches power equipment, signal controls, or trigger alarms. They’re single pole, double throw (SPDT) and can either turn one device from off to on (normally open) or on to off (normally closed). UL listed and CSA certified, all meet American and Canadian safety standards. Those that are CE marked meet European safety standards.
Switches with an on/off indicator tell you the status of your equipment, letting you monitor your equipment even when it’s out of sight.
All protect against some corrosion. NEMA 1 rated switches should only be used indoors.

Differential Pressure Switches for Air


Often used with ovens, dryers, and HVAC systems, these switches detect small differences in air pressure to indicate a filter is clogged or help you maintain a certain air pressure. When the differential pressure reaches your setpoint, these switches can turn equipment on and off, activate automated controls, or signal alarms. They are single pole, double throw (SPDT) and can be installed to turn one circuit from off to on (normally open) or from on to off (normally closed). All meet at least one safety standard.
When measuring pressure in ductwork, pair them with a static pressure probe.
NEMA 13 rated switches can be used in dirty, damp, and oily areas. Switches rated IP54 protect against dust and splashing water.

Pressure and Vacuum Switches
