Use this general purpose grease to lubricate most machinery.

NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 1 is about the consistency of tomato paste. NLGI 2 is about the consistency of peanut butter. NLGI 3 is about the consistency of vegetable shortening.

Mineral-oil-based grease, derived from petroleum, is usually more economical than synthetic-oil-based grease. Synthetic-oil-based grease lasts longer than mineral-oil-based grease and generally withstands a wider range of temperatures. Semisynthetic-oil-based grease, a blend of mineral and synthetic oils, balances low cost with long-lasting performance.

Grease with lithium thickener offers good heat and moisture resistance. Grease with aluminum thickener has good moisture resistance and excellent oxidation resistance. Grease with clay thickener has excellent heat resistance and good oxidation resistance. Grease with silicone thickener has excellent heat and moisture resistance and good oxidation resistance. It is NSF registered H1 for incidental food contact. Grease with sodium thickener has excellent heat resistance.

Grease with moly (molybdenum disulfide) has excellent resistance to wear and can withstand high-load and high-pressure applications. Grease with PTFE has small particles of PTFE that reduce friction and help the grease maintain its lubricity. Grease with zinc neutralizes acid and is a good replacement for leaded grease. Grease with aluminum has excellent stability and wear resistance when used with metal.

Grease that cannot be sold to regions outside the United States is restricted by product labeling requirements; grease that cannot be sold to California exceeds local regulatory limits on VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry. Nonmelting grease can be used at temperatures above the maximum temperature briefly, but then will break down more quickly.
