Horizontal Mount—This iron stand suits bench use where the micrometer lays flat. Rubber jaw liners protect the micrometer frame from scratches, and the nonskid base keeps the stand from shifting.
Vertical Mount—Steel stands hold the micrometer upright for measuring parts fed in from below. The steel construction resists deflection under repeated loading in production environments.
