    Machinable 416 Stainless Steel Rods

    Drill, mill, and turn at high speeds without clogging your cutting tools. Alloyed with sulfur, 416 is the easiest type of stainless steel to machine. It also maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures as hot as 1200° F. However, it's not as corrosion resistant as other types of stainless steel, such as 304 and 17-4 PH.

    Heat Treatment Condition A—The most machinable and formable state of 17-4 PH stainless steel. These rods are a good option when you’re performing your own heat treatment. They can be heat treated to boost their yield strength up to 170,000 psi.
