Also known as chrome-moly steel, this versatile alloy steel is used for a wide range of parts, such as gears, axles, shafts, collets, and die holders. It resists fracturing from repeated stress. For added wear resistance, the surface can be hardened with heat treating.

Extreme-Strength Highly Machinable 1144 Carbon Steel Rods

Made with more carbon and manganese than other easy-to-machine carbon steels, 1144 carbon steel has a higher yield strength and hardness. Highly Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel Rods
One of the most corrosion-resistant types of stainless steel, 316 stands up to the harshest chemicals, including bleach, chlorine, and phosphoric acid. It's a step up from 304, which has similar strength and temperature performance. Use it in a variety of marine and chemical-processing applications. Made-to-Order Extreme-Strength 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Rods

17-4 PH stainless steel combines the strength of 400 series stainless steel with the corrosion resistance of 300 series. This makes it fit for the most demanding applications—even storing and protecting nuclear waste. You can be confident it will stay corrosion resistant in temperatures as hot as 1100° F. Also known as 630 stainless steel.
Heat Treatment Condition A—The most machinable and formable state of 17-4 PH stainless steel. These rods are a good option when you’re performing your own heat treatment. They can be heat treated to boost their yield strength up to 170,000 psi.
