Wear-Resistant Idler Sprockets for ANSI Roller Chain
Hardened teeth give these steel sprockets increased wear resistance for a long service life. Designed to rotate freely on built-in bearings, idler sprockets maintain constant tension on your drive by pressing against your chain to take up slack and reduce wear and vibration. They are for use with roller chain tensioners.
Ball bearings are double sealed to keep dirt out.

Timing Belt Idler Pulleys
Add these free-spinning pulleys to your timing belt setup to minimize vibration and keep belts from wearing out. The needle bearing at the center of these pulleys is lined with small, cylindrical rollers that reduce friction as they rotate. This bearing allows both the pulley and the shaft it’s mounted on to spin independently. Made from iron or steel, these pulleys are strong and wear-resistant. The black oxide coating protects the pulleys from corrosion in dry environments.
Trapezoidal teeth on the outside of the pulley fit into teeth inside your timing belt—select a pulley that matches your belt trade size. The maximum belt width should be the same size or larger than the width of your timing belt.

Metal Gears and Gear Racks—14 1/2° Pressure Angle
A former industry standard, 14½° pressure angle gears are often found on older machinery. Made of carbon steel, they have high strength and are better than plastic gears and gear racks for high-load, high-speed, and heavy duty applications.
Combine gears with different numbers of teeth to change speed and torque in your assembly. Combine a gear and rack to convert rotary motion into linear motion.
For components to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle and pitch.
Gears with machinable bore have a large hub diameter so you can machine them to fit your shaft.
Gears with hardened teeth are more wear resistant than gears with teeth that are not hardened. Gears with teeth that are not hardened can be hardened to fit your application. Hardening a gear's teeth increases its wear resistance.

Metal Miter Gears
With straight, conically shaped teeth and a 1:1 speed ratio, miter gears connect two shafts at an angle without changing shaft speed or torque. They're more efficient than spiral miter gears because they create less friction.
For two gears to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle, shaft angle, pitch/module, and number of teeth.
Carbon steel gears have hard, strong, and wear-resistant teeth. They’re best for heavy duty and high-torque applications, such as lifting equipment. However, these gears will rust when exposed to moisture or corrosive chemicals. Some gears have hardened teeth for additional wear resistance; gears with teeth that are not hardened can be hardened to fit your application.

Metal Worms and Worm Gears
Worm gears use screw threads to make large reductions to shaft speed while transmitting motion at a right angle. They transmit motion from worm to gear and cannot be reversed. For gears and worms to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle and pitch/module. These worms are compatible with plastic worm gears.
Speed ratio is the ratio by which output shaft speed is reduced. As speed decreases, torque increases.
Cast iron gears are strong and durable.

Plastic Gears and Gear Racks—14 1/2° Pressure Angle
A former industry standard, 14½° pressure angle gears are often found on older machinery. Made of plastic, they run quieter than metal gears and have good corrosion and chemical resistance. They’re also known as spur gears.
Combine gears with different numbers of teeth to change speed and torque in your assembly. Combine a gear and rack to convert rotary motion into linear motion.
For components to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle and pitch.
