    Stacking Configurations

    Keep pipe flange connections sealed to prevent damage and leaks. These springs compensate for flange bolt heads and nuts as they shift from vibration and expand or contract from temperature changes. Unlike spring lock washers, they return to their original height again and again when decompressed. Also known as Belleville disc springs.
    To increase working load or deflection, stack multiple springs. A nested stack increases working load; an inverted stack increases deflection. In a nested and inverted stack, both load and deflection increase. Multiply the original working load or deflection (depending on your configuration) by the number of springs to find your new total.
    Steel—Made of H13 tool steel, these springs stay strong and wear resistant in temperatures as hot as 1,000° F. They also won't crack during repeated heating and cooling cycles. However, they're not as corrosion resistant as stainless steel springs.
