    Starrett Height Transfer Gauges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Height Gauges. Starrett Height Transfer Gauges.
Transfer precise height measurements from gauge blocks, finished parts, or existing setups to workpieces and new machinery. Often used in toolmaking and other manufacturing processes, these gauges help you check whether parts are uniform and machine settings are consistent. Their rigid, rectangular column makes them less sensitive to vibration than standard height gauges, so your setting won’t shift when you move the gauge. Fine adjustments are made with a hand wheel on the base, rather than on the column, which helps keep the rod steady for the most accurate measurements.
Slide the rod up or down the column to line it up with the object you want to measure, then fine-tune its position with the hand wheel. Lock it in place with a thumb screw before moving the gauge. The rod is removable, so you can also use these gauges with a variance indicator.

These Starrett gauges measure height more precisely than standard height gauges. Use them to mark material before cutting it for machining and toolmaking. They have two vertical scales—a main scale and a sliding vernier scale. The vernier scale splits up the graduation marks on the main scale into smaller increments for a more accurate reading. Set your initial height, then fine-tune with the adjustment screw.
All come with a pointed carbide-tipped scriber and a scriber clamp to hold it in place. The pointed tip makes precise, fine lines, but it wears over time.

Take height measurements and set the attached scriber at a specific height for repeat marking. These gauges have zero-position memory, also known as absolute (ABS) positioning, which retains the measuring position when the gauge is turned off. A zero-set button lets you start measuring at any point.

Starrett Electronic Height Gauges with Calibration Certificate

Image of Product. Front orientation. Height Gauges. Starrett Electronic Height Gauges with Calibration Certificate.
These gauges come with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they've passed a test for accuracy. They have a scriber that can be set at a specific height for repeat marking. All have zero-position memory, also known as absolute (ABS) positioning, which retains the measuring position when the gauge is turned off. A zero-set button lets you start measuring at any point.
