Injected with air during casting, aluminum foam is even lighter than solid aluminum and has a crater-like appearance. It’s often installed as sound insulation and on the exterior of buildings.
To machine aluminum foam, you’ll need a carbide- or diamond-tipped blade. Diamond blades cut more easily and last longer than carbide ones.
Small Cell—Dense and stiff, this foam is best for high-performance acoustic panels and sturdy, decorative elements. It's 1/6 the weight of solid aluminum.
Large Cell—Our lightest aluminum foam due to its low density. It's 1/3 the weight of small-cell foam and 1/20 the weight of solid aluminum. Since light peeks through the holes, it's often used to build architectural light diffusers.

EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets for Data Connectors

Fit these gaskets over connectors that plug in to your enclosure to absorb interference and prevent signal problems. They block electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), which cause flickering displays and inaccurate readings.

Image of Product. Front orientation. EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets. EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets for Data Connectors, Panel-Mount Mil. Spec. Connector.
Silicone Rubber—Silicone rubber gaskets are good for high temperature and wet environments because they seal out moisture. Most are sized to fit specific mil. spec. connector shell sizes.
Interference Reduction @ Frequency—Interference reduction at frequency, also known as attenuation, describes how much EMI and RFI is blocked. These gaskets block most interference; use them for general purpose shielding as well as protecting sensitive or precision components.

    EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets

These gaskets absorb electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) to prevent inaccurate signals, flickering displays, and other electrical problems. They compress to fill gaps and complete a grounding path around doors and access panels.
    Sheets
Image of Product. Front orientation. EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets. Sheets, Polyurethane Foam.

    Polyurethane Foam

Sheets work well between two flat surfaces.
Polyurethane Foam—Polyurethane foam gaskets are covered with either a conductive nickel/copper braided fabric or conductive aluminum foil. A nonconductive adhesive holds them in place. To protect sensitive equipment, they block at least twice as much interference as urethane foam gaskets. Cut these gaskets to length with scissors.
Adhesive Backing—Adhesive-back gaskets stick to flat surfaces.
UL 94 HF-1—Gaskets that meet UL 94 HF-1 stop burning within two seconds if they catch on fire and won’t spread the fire by dripping.
