Each bit is precisely sized to match the tolerances necessary to achieve maximum holding strength from tapping screws. Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and hammer drills. The shank has a tang which allows it to fit into a drill press with a tapered spindle.

An open spiral-flute design clears chips quickly, so these bits can bore smooth, deep holes through construction lumber, railroad ties, and utility poles. Also known as pole or ship auger bits.
Tapered square/round-shank drill bits have a tapered square shank that can be cut off to expose a round shank.
Hex/round-shank drill bits have a hex shank that can be cut off to expose a 1/2" round shank.
Black-oxide and clear-coated steel drill bits produce less friction than uncoated steel drill bits.

The shaft is made of spring steel instead of hardened steel, so it flexes while drilling, allowing you to drill inside walls or between floors. A hole in the flute near the tip lets you pull wire through after holes are drilled. The end of the wire must be stripped prior to attaching it to the bit. Also known as bell hanger bits.
Use a hand guide (sold separately) to position flexible-shaft drill bits.
Use a ball guide (sold separately) to keep flexible-shaft drill bits centered between studs and drywall.

Use with handheld power drills, drill presses, and in hammer drills. Drill holes using simultaneous rotary and hammering action to break masonry material into tiny granules. These bits drill faster and penetrate material with less pressure than rotary-only bits. Also called percussion or impact bits.
