    Keyed Rotary Shafts

Match with a machine key to prevent slipping while transmitting torque to gears and other components. Turned, ground, and polished to tight tolerances, these shafts reduce vibration, evenly distribute loads, and improve accuracy.
    Fully Keyed

Mount components anywhere along the length of these shafts. For secure torque transmission, slide a component from either end and lock it into place with an ANSI machine key (sold separately).
Carbon Steel—Strong and easy to machine. These shafts work best in dry environments since moisture will cause steel to rust.

These shafts combine keyed ends with a plain center for versatile assembly. The keyways on the ends lock with the included ANSI machine keys to transmit torque to components such as gears and sprockets. The plain center fits bearings and other round-bore parts.

    Splined Rotary Shafts

Often used in hydraulic and other high-torque applications, these shafts have evenly spaced teeth to transmit heavy rotational loads. They handle more torque and last longer than keyed shafts since they have multiple contact points. Pair them with splined sleeve bushings (sold separately). Compatible bushings and components slide right along the splines, making these shafts a good choice for frequent disassembly and adjustments.
    Fully Parallel Splined
Image of Product. Front orientation. Rotary Shafts. Splined Rotary Shafts, Fully Parallel Splined.
Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Rotary Shafts. Splined Rotary Shafts, Fully Parallel Splined.
The large, straight-sided teeth resemble machine keys and transmit more torque than involute-spline teeth. These shafts are fully splined, so you can mount components anywhere along their length.
Carbon Steel—Strong and easy to machine. These shafts work best in dry environments since moisture will cause steel to rust.
Sleeve Bushings—Transmit rotary motion or position loads along a shaft. These bushings also work as couplers—they can join two splined shafts when welded into place.
