Steel blades are stronger than stainless steel blades, but can rust over time and shouldn’t be used in sterile or corrosive environments.

Stainless steel blades are more corrosion resistant than steel blades and can be sterilized.

#10 blades are the most commonly used scalpel blades for simple, straight cuts.

#11 blades have an extra-fine tip similar to X-ACTO blades. Use them for precise cuts around intricate shapes or to make small punctures.

#12 blades are curved so rope, twine, and cord won't slip while you cut them.

#15 blades have a short cutting edge for making small, curved cuts.

#20 blades and higher are extra large, so long cuts take less time.

Cut through packing tape, blister packaging, paper, and other thin materials while keeping your hands safe from punctures and cuts. Unlike utility knives with a standard blade, these have a double-angle blade that creates an effective cutting edge while safeguarding fingers. Made of ceramic, the blade retains its sharp edge up to 10 times longer than metal blades and won’t rust. A nonslip handle allows a secure grip for making precise cuts. Small and lightweight, these knives have a lanyard hole for attaching them to a lanyard or key ring to keep them close at hand. You can also use the built-in magnet to stick them onto metal surfaces for convenient storage.

The double-blade knife has a blade on the top and bottom to cut thicker material than knives with a single blade.

Maintain a hygienic worksite by throwing disposable knives out when you’re done using them or if they become dull or worn. By throwing them out after use, you limit instances of sharing a tool with another worker and spreading germs. The blade is exposed on both sides of the head, so you can use both sides for double the life. Since the blade is built into the head, you can’t remove or replace it.

Metal-detectable knives have a metal additive that sets off metal detectors if they fall into your line. Use these knives in food processing environments, as well as other processing and production environments where contamination is a concern.

Avoid accidents—a spring-action guard keeps the blade covered until you press on the cutting surface. The guard snaps back over the blade once contact is lost with the cutting surface.
