Ethernet Cords with M12 Connectors

The M12 threaded ends on these cords seal out contaminants and resist coming loose from vibration better than the RJ45 ends on traditional Ethernet cords. Use them in tough, rugged environments to send high-speed data between sensors, switches, servers, computers, and PLCs not protected by control panels. These cords can power devices as they send data, as long as devices are Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible. They are often used within Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and EtherCat systems. Their poles and keyways adhere to standard coding layouts, reducing the chance you’ll mismatch connections.

All cords are backward compatible, so they work in networks that meet the same or lower ethernet cable category. For example, a Category 6 cord will work in a Category 5 network, but it will only run at the Category 5 speed.

A- and X-coded cords send data faster than D-coded cords, so they’re good for robotics and multi-step programs.

With either TPE or polyurethane insulation, all cords stand up to harsh factory conditions, chemicals, and UV rays. All are also highly flexible, so they’re good for jobs with continuous motion, such as robotics. Oil-resistant polyurethane-insulated cords are free of halogen, so they’re safer than most plastic as they won’t release toxic fumes or corrode metal.

Double-shielded cords have layers of braid and foil that block signal interference from nearby devices, preventing impact to transmission speeds and data.

When mated, all cords are IP67 rated to protect against dust and temporary submersion.

Add caps to protect cords and maintain their IP ratings when not in use.

Couple these adapters with a cord that matches your outlet and length requirements to run DC-powered electronics. Instead of plugging directly into an outlet, the body of these adapters sits on the floor or other surface, so it remains out of the way and won’t block multiple outlets. These adapters use switching regulation—they produce the stated voltage even when your outlet’s power or the power drawn by your device fluctuates. Most have an LPS low-voltage output, so if something fails inside these adapters, they’ll limit the risk of electrical shocks. They meet U.S., Canadian, and European safety standards. Many also meet U.S. and European standards for energy efficiency.

When choosing an adapter, match the output voltage and polarity of your device. Look for the polarity illustration on your device or the adapter you're replacing. The current you choose should, at a minimum, match your device. You can choose a higher current, but it will not improve performance.

Adapters with an IEC C8 input require power cords with a C7 socket. With Class II shock protection, they have two levels of insulation that prevent electrical shocks.

Adapters with an IEC C14 input require power cords with a C13 socket. They have Class I shock protection and prevent electrical shocks with a combination of insulation and a protective ground.

To run DC-powered lab and medical equipment from your outlet, add a power cord with the plug style and length you need. These adapters meet strict IEC, UL, or ANSI/AAMI standards for use with medical devices. They also have a Means of Protection rating of 2xMOPP, which is the highest level of shock protection available for medical-grade power supplies, so in addition to using them with lab and medical equipment, you can use them with devices that come into contact with patients.

Unlike adapters with bodies that plug directly into an outlet, the body of these adapters rests on a desk or the floor, so it won’t block multiple outlets. Adapters with an IEC C8 input connection require power cords with a C7 socket. Those with an IEC C14 input connection require power cords with a C13 socket.

When selecting an adapter, make sure the DC voltage and amps for the pin output connection can handle the requirements of your device. Choosing a DC voltage and amps that are much higher than you need will not improve performance.

Micro M12 Screw-Together Ethernet Connectors

Unlike traditional RJ45 connectors found in data centers, these connectors stand up to rugged industrial environments since they tightly thread to devices with M12 connections, sealing out contaminants and resisting shaking loose from vibration. Use them to transfer high-speed data between sensors, switches, computers, IO modules, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other equipment. They can also power devices as they send data, so you don’t need a separate power cord. But, the device must be Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible. These connectors are often used with EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and EtherCAT systems. Since they’re shielded, they block signal interference from nearby devices, maintaining their speed and data integrity. Poles and keyways on the face adhere to standard coding layouts to reduce the chance you’ll mismatch connections.
