Certified by EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) to meet sanitary design standards, these cap nuts fit into tight spaces to cover and seal exposed threads in your food processing facility. Also known as acorn nuts, they’re at least 20% shorter than standard cap nuts. Made from 316 stainless steel, these nuts won’t corrode from frequent washdowns with water or harsh cleaners. They are self-draining, meaning that they don’t have horizontal surfaces, so liquids and debris will drain off completely. They also have extremely smooth sides and rounded edges to eliminate crevices where bacteria could grow.
The silicone seal at the base of the nut keeps contaminants off the threads and prevents an unsanitary metal-to-metal connection. It’s made with metal and chemical additives, so you can find it with a metal detector or X-ray machine if it falls into your line. This helps you comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs to keep contaminated food from leaving your facility. The seal is also FDA compliant, so it’s safe for direct contact with food.

Cover exposed threads with these caps to help prevent bacteria growth in food processing areas and other sanitary environments. Instead of a cap without a seal, these have a silicone seal that blocks out water and contaminants. The rest is made of 304 stainless steel, which resists corrosion, even from frequent washdowns with harsh cleaners. Their smooth finish and rounded edges leave no crevices for water and bacteria to settle in, reducing the chance that a foodborne illness survives and spreads. Tighten these caps by their wrench flats to avoid scratching them. They’re up to four times as tall as our largest cap nuts, so they protect more threads.

A nylon insert on these metric nuts prevents vibration from loosening them, and a domed head protects the threads at the end of the bolt from damage and debris. These nuts are reusable, but the nylon insert’s holding power decreases with each use. Also known as acorn nuts, they create a finished appearance and can reduce snagging on wires and insulation. Nuts meet DIN 986, an international standard for domed cap nut dimensions.
These nuts are made of strong and wear-resistant Class 6 steel. A zinc plating extends the life of the nut by protecting the inner steel from rust.
