Each hub includes a set screw (unless noted), which bites into your shaft to hold the coupling in place. Also known as Lovejoy® couplings, these three-piece couplings have a spider-shaped cushion between two hubs to reduce shock and handle minor shaft misalignment.
A complete coupling consists of two hubs and one spider, or two hubs, one split spider, and one retaining ring (all components sold separately). Split spiders are easier to install and replace than standard spiders because there’s no need for tools or removing your hubs. Twist-lock them in place using a retaining ring.
Buna-N—Buna-N spiders provide good vibration damping and chemical resistance.
Hytrel—Hytrel spiders provide fair vibration damping and excellent chemical resistance.
Polyurethane Rubber—Polyurethane spiders and split spiders provide fair vibration damping and good chemical resistance.

Made with lightweight nylon sleeves, these gear couplings require less energy to move than other high-torque flexible couplings. They compensate for parallel, angular, and axial misalignment. Fasten to your shafts by tightening the set screws, which bite into the shaft to hold it.

    Clamping Precision Flexible Shaft Couplings

Image of Product. Front orientation. Flexible Shaft Couplings. Clamping Precision Flexible Shaft Couplings, Spiral Cut.

    Spiral Cut

Designed to grip evenly around your shaft, these couplings provide more holding power than set screw couplings without marring the shaft. Tighten the clamping screws to secure.
Spiral Cut—Spiral couplings have long cuts in their body for flexibility to handle parallel, axial, and angular misalignment better than parallel couplings. However, they’re not as rigid. Often used for light duty encoder and stepper drive applications, they allow zero backlash (no play) and never need lubrication. They’re also known as helical beam couplings.
7075 Aluminum—7075 aluminum couplings are lightweight with good corrosion resistance.

Attach these collars anywhere along your shaft, which helps when other components are already installed or you can't access the end. They clamp firmly and evenly without marring the shaft, so you can reposition or remove collars later.
Black-Oxide Carbon Steel—Dark and matted for a finished look, but with minimal corrosion resistance. Best for dry environments.
Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—A step up from plain carbon steel collars, these withstand occasional exposure to moisture.
303 Stainless Steel—Withstand moisture and mild cleaning solutions, such as acetone and ammonia. These are easier to machine than other stainless steel collars.
316 Stainless Steel—More corrosion resistant than 303 stainless steel collars. These collars withstand salt water and harsh chemicals, such as bleach, chlorine, and phosphoric acid.

The gears on these U-joints transmit rotary motion between shafts that are misaligned at angles up to 136°, the widest angle of all our U-joints. Use them in hand-powered, low-speed applications. Drill holes through the U-joint and your shafts and then connect using spring pins.

    Pin-and-Block Joint

Connect and transfer torque between two shafts that are misaligned at an angle. Your shafts’ misalignment will affect the speed and torque these U-joints will be able to transmit. The more the shafts are misaligned, the less speed and torque they’ll be able to transmit.
Pin-and-Block Joint—Pin-and-block U-joints handle higher torque at lower speeds than other joint types such as those with needle bearings, making them a good choice for most applications. To extend their life by keeping lubricant in and contaminants out, use the grooves on their body to add a cover (sometimes called bellows or boots).
Steel—Steel U-joints are strong and handle more torque than zinc alloy U-joints.
For Round Shafts—U-joints for round shafts connect to shafts with spring pins (included with some U-joints).
Spring Pins Not Included— U-joints without spring pins require you to drill holes through both the U-joint and your shafts.

Made to meet strict military standards for material and construction, these stainless steel U-joints also balance strength with good corrosion resistance. Customize their bores until they fit your shafts. They come apart and have a small, centered starter hole on each end to make drilling easy. Because they’re single U-joints, they connect and transfer torque between two shafts that are misaligned at an angle. They have a pin-and-block joint, so they handle higher torque at lower speeds than other joint types such as those with needle bearings, making them a good choice for most applications.

Lightweight alternatives to traditional metal collars for weight-sensitive applications. The set screw digs into shafts for a secure hold, but one that leaves a gouge.
Nylon—Will swell and weaken when exposed to moisture, so they're best for dry environments.

    Shaft Collars with Lever

Ideal for frequent setup changes in tight spaces, these collars tighten with a lever instead of a screwdriver. Slide them from one end of your shaft and turn the lever like a ratchet to secure. To reposition or remove collars later, use the lever to loosen the screw and release the hold.
Black-Oxide Carbon Steel—Dark and matted for a finished look, but with minimal corrosion resistance. Best for dry environments.
303 Stainless Steel—Withstand moisture and mild cleaning solutions, such as acetone and ammonia. These are easier to machine than other stainless steel collars.

    Two-Piece Shaft Collars with Lever

Skip the screwdriver—tighten these collars by turning the lever like a ratchet instead. They're ideal for packing, printing, label-feeding, and other equipment requiring frequent setup changes in tight spaces. Attach them anywhere along your shaft, which helps when other components are already installed or you can't access the ends. To reposition or remove collars later, use the lever to loosen the screw and release the hold.

    Set Screw Shaft Collars

Image of Product. Front orientation. Shaft Collars. Set Screw Shaft Collars.
Slide these traditional collars from one end of the shaft and tighten the set screw. They dig into the shaft for a secure hold, but one that leaves a gouge. For maximum holding power, make sure the set screw is harder than the shaft.
Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel and corrosion resistant.
Brass—Resist corrosion in wet environments, conduct electricity, and are nonmagnetic.
