Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.
More
Extreme temperatures are no problem for these fittings—they’re made of PTFE, so they can withstand a wider temperature range than any of our other plastic pipe fittings for chemicals. They have the chemical resistance to stand up to acid and solvents. Fittings have thick, Schedule 80 walls for heavy duty industrial applications. The material won’t leach contaminates into the line, so these fittings are commonly used in high-purity processes, such as semiconductor and clean room applications. They have a super-smooth interior for unrestricted flow. Apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant to the male threads to prevent leaks. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic threaded connections. When making a threaded connection be careful not to overtighten the threads. To prevent cracks and leaks, finger tighten the fitting, then wrench-tighten one to two turns. Fittings meet ASTM D1710 specifications and testing requirements for material quality.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas.

Through-wall fittings are also known as bulkhead couplings and panel-mount couplings; they mount through a wall, tank, or panel to create an inlet or outlet for faucets, pipes, and spigots. They are for use on flat and curved surfaces.

Connect quick-clamp sanitary tube fittings—also known as aseptic fittings—for a fast and easy way to access your line.
Clamps with wing nut tighten by hand. 304 stainless steel clamps have very good corrosion resistance. Clamps that meet DIN 32676 adhere to international standards for sanitary quick-clamp fittings.

The temperature rating of the fitting will vary depending on the gasket material you choose. Buna-N gaskets are oil resistant. EPDM gaskets resist water and steam and work well in humid environments. Silicone gaskets withstand high temperatures. Fluoroelastomer gaskets stand up to fuel, oil, and acid condensates. PTFE gaskets withstand harsh chemicals, with the exception of molten alkali metal and elemental fluorine.

Also known as luer lock couplings, these consist of a plug and socket that connect to small-diameter tubing with a half turn. They have a compact body for easy installation in tight spaces. Insert tubing into the plug or socket and tighten the nut to form a seal. Couplings are open-flow style, so there is no shut-off valve to stop the flow when the coupling is separated. They are 316 stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance.
Note: For a complete coupling, order a plug and a socket.

An all-brass body gives these couplings better strength and durability than plastic quick-turn couplings. They have a nickel plating for extra protection against corrosive environments. Also known as luer lock couplings, they consist of a plug and socket (sold separately) that connect with a half turn. They have a compact body, so they’re easy to fit in tight spaces. Plugs and sockets are open-flow style, so there is no shut-off valve to stop the flow when the coupling is separated. They have a universal connection, so the plugs will connect to any of the sockets, regardless of the pipe or tube size.
Note: For a complete coupling, order a plug and a socket.
