Adhesive-Mount Heaters for Pails, Drums, and Tanks
Also known as heat sheets, these flexible heaters permanently adhere to container surfaces to warm contents without direct contact. They require a temperature switch or controller (sold separately) to regulate heat output.
Adhesive-back heaters have a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Adhesive-ready heaters have a plain back and should be installed with Dow Corning 736 silicone sealant (sold separately).
Heaters with a watt density of 5 watts per square inch are good for general purpose heating. Note: Do not cut, crease, or overlap these heaters—this will damage the heating element. Use a roller during installation to remove air pockets and ensure direct surface contact. Once heaters have been applied to a surface, they cannot be removed and reused.

Ultra-Flexible Constant-Wattage Heaters for Pipes and Tubes
Wrap the flexible fiber heating element around small-diameter pipes and tubes or pack it into tight spaces. Since these heaters supply the same wattage regardless of the surrounding temperature, they're less prone to power surges than self-regulating heaters. All require a temperature switch or controller (sold separately) to regulate heat output. They do not produce an electromagnetic field, so they can be used near electronics.
Heaters with a 2.1 mm ID connector can be used with an AC adapter (not included) to convert them to AC power.
Note: Only install these heaters in accessible locations; do not install them behind walls, underground, or in other difficult-to-access areas. Use fiberglass tape or heat-transfer putty to install them directly on surfaces that are free of dirt, grease, and rough edges. Do not use electrical tape, duct tape, metal bands, or wire. To prevent heat loss and protect heaters from moisture and corrosion, wrap them with fiberglass insulation.

Miniature Enclosure Heaters

Under 2 ½” long, these tiny heaters fit in tight spaces, such as security camera enclosures. For localized heat in a large enclosure, place them near batteries and other parts that don’t work well in the cold. These heaters create radiant heat, which spreads out in all directions without needing a fan. They also reduce humidity, preventing condensation that causes corrosion and short circuits.
Heaters run continuously—turn them on with a thermostat, humidistat, timer, or switch. Use a thermostat to control temperature or a humidistat to control moisture.
These heaters are rated IP32 to keep out objects the size of a screwdriver and drops of water falling from above. As UL and C-UL Recognized Components that are also CE Marked and VDE Certified, they meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
Mount these heaters in any position. To install heaters with mounting clips, screw the clips to your enclosure and press the heater into the clips.

Enclosure Heaters
Warm the air in your enclosure to keep electrical components at the ideal operating temperature. These heaters also reduce humidity, preventing condensation that causes corrosion and short circuits. The fan blows hot air upward so it heats the enclosure evenly.
Heaters with thermostat are adjustable, so you can decide when the heater turns on and off.
All heaters meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards. Heaters rated IP20 are designed so you can’t accidentally touch the circuits inside and get shocked. Heaters that meet UL 94 V-0 self-extinguish within 10 seconds if they catch fire, and won’t spread the fire by dripping.

DIN-Rail Enclosure Heaters
Snap these heaters on a DIN rail inside your enclosure to keep electronics safe from cold and moisture.
Heaters with thermostat turn on when your enclosure gets too cold. Adjustable thermostats let you set a custom temperature.
Fan heaters blow hot air upward for even heat throughout an enclosure. They’re also double-insulated for shock protection.
Heaters that meet UL 94 V-0 self-extinguish within 10 seconds if they catch fire, and won’t spread the fire by dripping. An IP20 rating means fingers can’t accidentally touch the circuits inside and get shocked.

Remote-Sensing Enclosure Heaters

A sensor attached to the heater might signal that it’s warm enough near the heater, while other parts of the enclosure are still cold. Moving the sensor away from the heater helps you keep electronics warm and dry, anywhere in the enclosure. For even heat, a fan blows upward to circulate warm air.
Choose a heater that clips to DIN rail or one that mounts to the bottom of your enclosure. Add a sensor (sold separately) that reaches the part of your enclosure you need to keep warm.
Heaters with thermostats turn on when the enclosure gets colder than the temperature you set. Heaters with humidistats switch on to reduce condensation when the relative humidity gets too high.
Heaters meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards. They also meet UL 94 V-0, so if they catch fire, they self-extinguish within 10 seconds and won’t spread the fire by dripping.

3D Printer Extruder Heating Elements

Replace damaged heating elements in your 3D printer, or switch them out to print at a faster speed or higher temperature. Also known as hotends, these heating elements receive filament from an extruder, melt it, and then pass it through a nozzle onto the part being printed. They are compatible with most fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printers. Changes to the heating element or temperature cartridge will also require a software update, or your printer may overheat.

Select a heating element with a voltage and extrusion type that match your printer. In printers with a direct feed, the extruder is attached to the heating element, feeding filament directly into it. Tube feed extruders, also known as Bowden extruders, are mounted to the frame and pass filament through a tube to the heating element. Heating elements for tube feed printers come with tubing and a fitting that attaches to the extruder.
V6 heating elements are the industry standard. They heat up in minutes to melt most multipurpose and flexible filaments. All parts are precision-machined to print smoothly and prevent clogs. These heating elements are not designed for high-speed or high-temperature printing. They come fully assembled, which saves setup time and eliminates assembly mistakes.
Volcano heating elements can print twice as fast as V6 and Mosquito styles. They fit nozzles with large openings, which allow more filament to flow through and result in a faster, stronger print. They come fully assembled, so setup is quick and error free.
For printing high-temperature filaments, such as PEEK and Ultem PEI, use Mosquito heating elements. They reach temperatures up to 149° C or 300° F higher than V6 or Volcano styles, so you can melt a wider variety of materials. These heating elements come with everything you need, and are partially assembled—you’ll need to connect the insertion heater and temperature sensor.

Shield your 3D printer's heating element, or hotend, from sticky filament buildup with these nonstick silicone covers. By repelling plastic and keeping the heating block clean, they increase the heating block's life and prevent stuck filament from dripping off and ruining prints.
Silicone is heat resistant, so these covers also insulate the heating block. An insulated heating block means more consistent extrusion temperatures and therefore better prints. The silicone also keeps heat away from the printed part to prevent it from warping.
Also known as socks, these covers are just as easy to put on and take off—slide on to install and peel off to remove.
Covers for heating block and nozzle protect the nozzle from PETG and other particularly sticky materials, which can gum up the nozzle. The material that surrounds the nozzle is very thin, though, so these covers wear out faster than covers that only protect the block.

Before installing printer components onto the heating block, coat the mounting holes with non-bonding heat transfer compounds. Also known as thermal paste, these compounds transfer heat to temperature sensors, which improves accuracy. They also keep components from sticking to the heating block, making them easier to remove.

The metal tip on insertion heaters is the heat source that melts filaments. Connect this tip to a heating block to spread the heat evenly across the filament guide. Plug the other end into your printer controller, which allows you to adjust the temperature. Insertion heaters with a higher wattage heat up faster and reach higher temperatures. Choose a heater with the same voltage as your 3D printer.
