Similar to steel-insert locknuts, these two-piece nuts withstand extreme vibration but are easier to install. Since the two pieces spin freely by hand until you tighten them together with a wrench, they're perfect for extra long screws and threaded rods. You can reuse them a handful of times, but their hold will decrease with repeated use. Also known as drake-style locknuts.
