An insulated handle protects against shock from accidental contact with live electrical circuits. These files meet IEC 60900 and ASTM F1505 standards, so they’re certified to protect you from a maximum of 1,000 volts of electricity. Tested up to 10 times their certified level, they have a significant safety margin. They also meet several workplace safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, and CSA. A guard on the front of the handle keeps your hand from slipping forward into the work area. The plastic handle helps you get a good, comfortable grip on these files.
The faces of these files have two sets of diagonal teeth for rapid material removal; the edges have one set of diagonal teeth for slow material removal and sharpening tool-cutting surfaces.
