Replaceable Carbide-Insert End Mills

Fasten carbide inserts directly to these end mills for a hold that's strong enough to handle the high speeds of a CNC machine. Replaceable carbide-insert end mills reduce waste and cost in high-volume jobs—when the cutting edges dull, replace the carbide inserts instead of the entire tool. End mills have a square cut style for milling square slots, pockets, and edges. All are noncenter-cutting for operations where the sides of the teeth do most of the work, such as shoulder milling, contouring, and finishing. They cannot be used for plunge cuts.
Carbide inserts have a positive rake, which means the cutting edge is angled to reduce vibration and prevent thin workpieces from bending. All have chip breakers that prevent the creation of long chips, which can damage tooling and restrict the flow of coolant. Use uncoated inserts for general purpose milling and short production runs. Use aluminum-titanium-chromium-nitride (AlTiCrN) coated inserts for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material. They’re harder and more wear resistant than uncoated carbide inserts.

Outside Chamfer End Mills for Pipes, Tubes, and Rods

Mill an angled edge to the entire outside diameter of pipe, tubes, and rods in a single pass with more speed and precision than a handheld scraper. These end mills deburr pipe and tube for butt welds and shape rods for sliding into housings and holes. They attach to screw machines, lathes, and drill presses and can be set up to repeat cuts for multiple pipes. Staggered cutting edges reduce vibration, resulting in a smooth finish. They have teeth that distribute cutting force and extend the life of the tool. Made of high-speed steel, they work with a variety of metals. Attach to your machine with a shank (sold separately).

Replaceable Carbide-Insert Face Milling Cutters

Titanium-diboride (TiB2) coated inserts reduce friction in nonferrous metals and composites, so you can use them without lubrication in material like aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic.
Use octagon inserts for general face milling. With eight cutting edges, they generate smooth cuts. Use round inserts for roughing and heavy cuts. Their shape makes them stronger than octagon and square inserts. Use square inserts to create a 90° corner when shoulder milling.
For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.
Replaceable Carbide-Insert Face Milling Cutter Kits

Create your own versatile face milling cutters. These kits include a cutter body, inserts, wrenches, and screws. Also known as indexable face mills, replaceable insert face milling cutters remove metal at least two times faster than comparable high-speed steel face milling cutters. When the cutting edges dull replace the carbide inserts instead of the entire tool. Use with an R8 shank arbor (sold separately).

Thread Mills
Cut a range of thread sizes with a single tool. These thread mills can also produce both right-hand and left-hand threads. All are made of solid carbide with an aluminum-titanium-nitride (AlTiN) coating, so they have high strength and excellent wear resistance, even when cutting hard and abrasive material. Use them in a CNC machine that allows helical interpolation.
When used for internal threading, thread mills can create threads of any size equal to or greater than the minimum size listed. They leave space in the hole for chips to fall, and a broken thread mill can fall into the hole without damaging the workpiece.
Thread mills for internal threading cut threads more quickly than other thread mills, but the threads they create have a fixed pitch.
Thread mills for external threading cut with single point, producing rounded threads that are commonly used for high-stress fastening applications involving heavy loads and high pressures. Each cuts a single thread pitch.
Thread mills for internal/external threading have a single cutting point that cuts threads in a range of different pitches on both the inside and outside of the workpiece.
