High-Speed Steel Square End Mills

Use these end mills for general purpose milling in most material, such as aluminum, brass, bronze, iron, and steel. They have a square end for milling square slots, pockets, and edges.
End mills with fewer flutes provide better chip clearance for high-volume, high-speed plunge, slotting, and roughing cuts; end mills with more flutes provide a finer finish and operate with less vibration when run at high speeds.
Use uncoated end mills for general purpose milling and short production runs. Use titanium-nitride (TiN) coated end mills for demanding, high-speed jobs in hard material as well as for longer production runs. They’re more wear resistant than uncoated end mills, which means they last longer when run at similar speeds.
Center-cutting end mills allow plunge cuts into a surface.

Replaceable Carbide-Insert Chamfer End Mills

Cut down on waste and cost during high-volume jobs. These end mills consist of a holder and a carbide insert, so you can swap in a fresh cutting edge without replacing the whole tool. The inserts are locked in place with a screw for a hold that’s strong enough to handle the high speeds of a CNC machine. They’re held at an angle, so you can create chamfers, bevels, and other angled cuts. You can also use them like a face mill for flat surface cutting.
Inserts have a positive rake, which means the cutting edge is angled to reduce vibration and prevent thin workpieces from bending. For a longer life, each insert has two cutting edges—rotate the insert when the first side wears down. They have chip breakers to stop long chips from forming, so they won’t block the flow of coolant or damage your tool. Inserts sold individually come in a clear plastic case to prevent damage during shipping. Inserts sold in packs come factory sealed from the manufacturer, which makes them easy to trace.
