Panel-Mount Ethernet Adapters

Mount these adapters in a panel cutout. They have an RJ45 female connection on both ends to join two Ethernet cords.
Shielded adapters protect equipment from electromagnetic interference. Those that screw in don’t require additional drilled holes or fasteners to mount. They need a more precise panel cutout than adapters that screw on.
Choose unshielded adapters when signal interference isn’t a concern.
Zinc adapters are more durable than plastic adapters.
Add a cap to protect these adapters when not in use. Hinged caps open and shut quickly at a fixed angle, so they’re more convenient for frequent access than tethered caps. Tethered caps can open in any direction, letting you access adapters from any angle. IP40-rated caps have a locking mechanism for extra security.
Label holders (sold separately) snap onto the front of adapters.

Micro M12 Screw-Together Ethernet Connectors
Unlike traditional RJ45 connectors found in data centers, these connectors stand up to rugged industrial environments since they tightly thread to devices with M12 connections, sealing out contaminants and resisting shaking loose from vibration. Use them to transfer high-speed data between sensors, switches, computers, IO modules, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other equipment. They can also power devices as they send data, so you don’t need a separate power cord. But, the device must be Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible. These connectors are often used with EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and EtherCAT systems. Since they’re shielded, they block signal interference from nearby devices, maintaining their speed and data integrity. Poles and keyways on the face adhere to standard coding layouts to reduce the chance you’ll mismatch connections.
When choosing an Ethernet connector, make sure you match or exceed your network’s category industry designation. These connectors are backward compatible—for example, a Category 6 connector will work in a Category 5 network, but it’ll only run at the Category 5 speed.
A-coded and X-coded connectors send data faster than D-coded connectors, so they’re best for robotics and other systems that run multi-step programs.
Adapters create a transition point between an M12 and RJ45 connection. Use them in panels or walls—your tough threaded connection on one side and your control panel and computer or PLC on the other.
90° elbow connectors run your cord along the side of equipment, so they fit behind machines and in tight spaces.
IP rated connectors keep out dust and can be used in wet areas when mated or capped. IP65 connectors can be lightly rinsed. IP67 connectors can be submerged temporarily.
Add caps to protect connectors and maintain their IP ratings when not in use.

Power Over Ethernet Injectors

With a single cord, send data and electricity to Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible devices. These injectors are commonly used to run devices such as routers and wireless access points in areas where no power outlet is nearby. To run these injectors, you need a power cord and two Ethernet cords (all sold separately). For injectors with an IEC C6 input connection, choose power cords with an IEC C5 socket. For injectors with an IEC C14 input connection, choose power cords with an IEC C13 socket. Connect one Ethernet cord from your network hub to the input of the injector, and the other Ethernet cord from the injector to your device.
These injectors meet U.S., Canadian, and European standards for safety. All have a limited power source (LPS) rating, meaning they meet international safety standards for low-voltage output. They’re also rated for DOE Level VI Efficiency, signaling they comply with Department of Energy efficiency requirements for power usage. Injectors rated for EU CoC Tier 2 Efficiency meet European standards for efficient power usage.
As these injectors convert AC voltage to DC voltage, some noise from the AC voltage will carry into the output. While this won't affect most applications, this noise can interfere with other signals in extremely sensitive applications. The lower the output noise, the less interference it creates.
When choosing an injector, consider how much power your device requires. Injectors with a 15.4W output power are often used with internet-connected phones and simple surveillance cameras. Injectors with a 30W output power commonly power advanced surveillance systems, wireless access points, and lighting. Injectors with a 60W output power are a common choice for building automation components and video conferencing equipment. Injectors with a 90W output power are often connected to TVs and monitors.
Use passive injectors with passive devices. These injectors send power to connected devices at all times; if they are incompatible, the devices could be damaged.
Active injectors check for compatibility with connected devices before sending power, protecting those devices from possible damage. They’re backwards compatible, so injectors with higher output powers can still be used with lower-power devices that meet a different IEEE standard.
Injectors with shielded connections protect from electromagnetic interference (EMI).
