About Sound Levels
Measured in decibels (dB), volume ratings indicate how much noise equipment makes. Some common volume levels include a whisper @ 20 dB, a refrigerator @ 40 dB, a conversation @ 60 dB, and a light machine shop @ 90 dB. OSHA recommends hearing protection for exposure to 80 dB and greater.

About Sound Levels
To choose an alarm or speaker that’s loud enough, first determine the decibel (dB) rating of background noise.

Hazardous Location Equipment-Cooling Fans

Safely cool electronics and equipment where explosive gases could be present due to equipment failure. ATEX certified, these fans meet European standards for hazardous locations. They’re also IP rated, so they seal out dust and are protected from water if briefly submersed. All have ball bearings that decrease noise for quiet operation. Their bearings reduce heat as they run as well, extending their life.

Wet-Location Equipment-Cooling Fans
Able to withstand dust and water splashes, these fans are IP rated. Also known as muffin fans, they keep heat-sensitive equipment such as electronic components cool. All have ball bearings to lower the heat that is generated from the fans for a longer service life. They also have UL recognized components.
IP55-rated fans can also stand up to washdowns from low-pressure jets of water.
Install fans with wire leads directly to your power source—there’s no need for additional connectors.
Use fans with quick-disconnect terminals to quickly connect and disconnect wiring from the terminal. Optional quick-disconnect power cords allow you to add a NEMA plug to these fans, so you can connect them to a standard outlet.

Battery-Powered Portable Fans

Cool down areas where you don't have an outlet—these fans are lightweight and battery-powered so you can tote them anywhere. The battery and charger are sold separately. You can also connect these fans to an electrical outlet with an extension cord (not included).
Enclosure Spot-Cooling Fans

Aim a stream of air at hot spots and equipment inside your enclosure to prevent overheating. Unlike other enclosure fans, they circulate air within your enclosure, so you don’t need to cut out an air intake. For precise adjustment, tilt the housing and spin the fan head to direct air where you need it. Use a thermostat, timer, or switch to turn fans on and off.
DIN-rail-mount fans snap onto DIN rail in four orientations with a dual DIN clip. Surface-mount fans can be screwed into the enclosure in any orientation.
Fans meet American, Canadian, or European safety standards. They also meet UL 94 V-0, so if they catch fire, they self-extinguish within 10 seconds and won’t spread the fire by dripping. Rated IP20, they’re designed so fingers can’t fit inside and get shocked.

Electric Blowguns for Large Areas

Clear dust and debris, test air ducts for leaks, and dry large surfaces without needing a compressed air line. Volume (dBA) is measured 3 ft. from the blowgun at 100 psi.
Attach the optional vacuum kit (sold separately) to convert the blowgun to a handheld vacuum.
High-Volume Hot Air Blowers
Blast your heating, drying, and shrinking projects with hot air to get the job done quickly. These blowers tilt 90° for directing airflow.
Use the optional curved-tip nozzle for installing heat-shrink tubing.

Static-Eliminating Bars
Also known as ionizing bars, these bars remove static from moving materials on conveyors and assembly lines where there is little or no air movement. Mount bars 1" to 7" from the material. Do not mount directly over metal parts or rollers; the metal will absorb the ion charge and reduce the effectiveness of the bar.
Power supplies are required and can operate up to two static-eliminating bars.
Optional bar tester indicates whether your static eliminator is operating.
