Alloy Steel Socket Head Screws

With a tensile strength of 170,000 psi, these alloy steel screws are stronger than Grade 8 steel screws. Length is measured from under the head.
Black and black-oxide steel screws are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments. Fine and extra-fine threads are closely spaced to prevent loosening from vibration; the finer the thread, the better the resistance. They are not compatible with coarse threads.

Extreme-Strength Steel Extra-Wide Hex Nuts—Grade 2H

Also known as heavy hex nuts, these nuts are about 10% wider and taller than standard hex nuts and distribute the load over a large area. Grade 2H nuts are comparable in strength to Grade 9 bolts. They're about 20% stronger than high-strength steel nuts and are used in heavy machinery, such as earth-moving equipment.

High-Strength Steel Nylon-Insert Locknuts—Grade 8

A nylon insert grips the bolt to resist loosening without damaging threads. These nuts are reusable, but their holding power lessens with each use. Made from Grade 8 steel, they're about 25% stronger than medium-strength steel locknuts.
Steel locknuts without a finish are ready to be painted or finished.
Zinc yellow-chromate plated steel locknuts resist corrosion in wet environments.
