Non-Hardening Thread Sealants with PTFE

PTFE provides a slippery surface that keeps threads from binding. These sealants never fully harden, remaining pliable enough to self-heal and stop leaks before they start, so they’re often used in high-vibration applications that could cause standard thread sealants to fail. Since they have low locking strength, these sealants can be adjusted without tools.
VOC (volatile organic compounds) regulations restrict sales of sealants that cannot be sold to the listed jurisdictions/areas.

Ultra-Thin Aerogel Pipe Insulation
Lightweight and super thin, these fiber-reinforced silica aerogel sheets and strips flex into tight spaces other insulation can't. Use on process piping and in power-generating applications. Insulation can be layered, laminated, or wrapped in foil.
Flame-resistant insulation meets ASTM E84 0/0 for flame and smoke.

Fiberglass Pipe Insulation
This common insulation material is typically used on hot and cold water lines and in process piping. To use outdoors, add metal jacketing.
Sheets/strips with foil facing reflect heat away from pipe. The foil facing is also known as FSK. Seal with reinforced HVAC tape (sold separately).
Sheets/strips with kraft paper facing have an all-service jacket (ASJ) made of kraft paper. Seal with reinforced insulation tape (sold separately).

High-Strength Basalt Pipe Insulation

- Max. Temperature: 1200° F
- Heat Flow Rate: 2.44 Btu @ 900° F
- Density: 1.75 lbs./cu. ft.
- Color: Brown
Superior in strength and durability, these thin strips insulate as well as protect personnel from accidental contact with hot pipes. Use for exhaust, hot water, and process pipes.
Economical Flexible Polyethylene Foam Pipe Insulation
Less flexible than rubber foam, this insulation restricts absorption of water, air, and gas. It is typically used in plumbing applications. Seal with contact adhesive (sold separately). To use outdoors, coat in acrylic paint.

- Temperature Range: -330° to 210° F
- Heat Flow Rate: 0.270 Btu @ 75° F
- Density: 1.5 lbs./cu. ft.
- Color: Black
- Specifications Met: ASTM E84 25/50 for Flame and Smoke
High-Temperature Ceramic Fiber Pipe Insulation
Shield against extreme heat with these flexible ceramic strips. They are often used to insulate hose, cables, and process piping.
Alumina oxide ceramic fiber has the lowest heat-flow rate of all the ceramic fiber materials.
Alkaline earth silicate ceramic fiber, also called AES, has a foil facing to reflect radiant heat.
Insulation with adhesive backing allows you to install without having to hold in place. Secure with band clamps or other parts of the assembly once in position. Apply while cool. Adhesive will start to wear off around 400° F, but this does not affect the insulation’s temperature rating.

- Temperature Range: See table
- Heat Flow Rate: 0.48 Btu @ 800° F
- Density: 12 lbs./cu. ft.
