ASME A13.1 requires that, for a given pipe OD, markers have a minimum character height, identify contents with a message, indicate flow direction with an arrow, and designate hazard classifications with a specific marker color. For messages with multiple marker color options, choose the color that best identifies the hazardous properties of the contents according to the ASME designations.
