High-Pressure Grease

This grease remains stable and in place under high pressure, heavy loads, and shock loads. It's often used for demanding mining, construction, and automotive applications.
NLGI viscosity grade is a rating of a grease's consistency. NLGI 2 is about the consistency of peanut butter.
Weld load measures a grease's ability to withstand pressure in kilograms of force (kgf). The higher the rating, the more pressure the grease can withstand.
Mineral-oil-based grease, derived from petroleum, is usually more economical than synthetic-oil-based grease. Synthetic-oil-based grease lasts longer than mineral-oil-based grease and generally withstands a wider range of temperatures.
Grease with lithium thickener offers good heat and moisture resistance. Grease with aluminum thickener has good moisture resistance and excellent oxidation resistance.
Grease with moly (molybdenum disulfide) and grease with graphite have excellent resistance to wear and can withstand high-load and high-pressure applications.
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry.

Mineral-oil-based grease, derived from petroleum, is usually more economical than synthetic-oil-based grease.
Grease with lithium thickener offers good heat and moisture resistance. Grease with clay thickener has excellent heat resistance and good oxidation resistance.
Grease with moly (molybdenum disulfide) has excellent resistance to wear and can withstand high-load and high-pressure applications.
Grease that cannot be sold to regions outside the United States is restricted by product labeling requirements; grease that cannot be sold to California exceeds local regulatory limits on VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Grease lubricates most efficiently within the listed temperature range. Melting temperature is the point at which grease will fail and run out of equipment, leaving it to run dry. Nonmelting grease can be used at temperatures above the maximum temperature briefly, but then will break down more quickly.

High-Pressure Bearing Grease

Open Gear and Chain Grease






Tackier than gear box grease, this grease sticks to open gears and roller chain. It resists moisture for corrosion protection and can lubricate under heavy loads.

Mineral-oil-based grease, derived from petroleum, is more economical than synthetic-oil-based grease. Synthetic-oil-based grease lasts longer than mineral-oil-based grease and withstands a wider range of temperatures.
Grease with lithium thickener offers good heat and moisture resistance. Grease with PTFE thickener has good heat, moisture, and oxidation resistance. Grease with talc thickener is long lasting and moisture resistant. Grease with asphalt thickener is thicker for excellent adhesion to chain and open gears.
Grease with moly (molybdenum disulfide) has excellent resistance to wear and can withstand high-load and high-pressure applications. Grease with zinc neutralizes acid and is a good replacement for leaded grease.

High-Pressure Oil


Use this oil at pressures up to 50,000 psi. Made with petroleum wax, it repels water and resists corrosion.
Viscosity is the thickness of an oil. The higher the grade, the thicker the oil, and the less it flows.
Oil Stabilizers

This stabilizer contains nano-sized additives, which penetrate small surface imperfections to reduce wear and heat, extending the life of both the oil and the engine while improving performance.
Metal-Free Antiseize Lubricants


Free of metal particles, these lubricants won’t react with stainless steel. Also known as thread lubricants, antiseize lubricants prevent threaded fasteners and close-fitting parts from locking together due to corrosion, contamination, or heat.
Lubricants with graphite have good chemical and corrosion resistance, along with excellent temperature resistance. Lubricants with moly (molybdenum disulfide) withstand high-pressure applications and have excellent wear resistance. Lubricants with zirconium have excellent corrosion resistance. DuPont Molykote P-37 Thread Paste won’t drip out of connections, so it’s good for use in areas where cleanliness is a concern.
Loctite® LB 8012 Moly Paste contains 65% moly. It fills in surface imperfections to reduce friction. Lubricants that meet MIL-PRF-907 have been tested to prevent corrosion of copper and for antiseize properties when used with steel nuts and studs. Lubricants that meet MIL-T-5544 are half graphite and half petroleum jelly.

Dry-Film Antiseize Lubricants

These lubricants dry to form a thin, solvent-resistant film that won't squeeze out or attract dirt. They're made with moly to withstand heavy loads and pressure. They can handle low-speed loads at temperatures up to 745° F and static loads up to 2400° F. Also known as thread lubricants, antiseize lubricants prevent threaded fasteners and close-fitting parts from locking together due to corrosion, contamination, or heat.
Loctite® LB 8017 Moly Dry Film can also be used with chain and other moving metal parts.

High-Pressure Powder Lubricants
