Twist-Claw Hose Couplings for Air and Water
Also known as Chicago and universal couplings, these have an identical claw-style head that allows you to connect to another Chicago twist-claw hose coupling, regardless of the pipe size or barbed hose ID. To connect, push two couplings together with a quarter twist. Couplings have a safety clip and lanyard to prevent accidental disconnection.
Iron couplings are stronger and more durable than other metal couplings. Use in noncorrosive environments. Zinc-plated steel couplings have fair corrosion resistance and should be used primarily in dry environments. Brass couplings are softer than other metal couplings, so they’re easier to thread together. They have good corrosion resistance. 316 stainless steel couplings have excellent corrosion resistance. They’re the best choice for high-humidity environments.

Spring-Lock Twist-Claw Hose Couplings for Air and Water
Prevent accidental disconnection with these couplings—they have a spring-loaded locking sleeve that automatically locks into place when you connect the coupling. Also known as Chicago and universal couplings, they have an identical claw-style head that allows you to connect to any other spring-lock twist-claw hose coupling. Double Grip-Lock Hose Couplings for Air and Water
Also known as Thor couplings, these have two locking points to give you twice the gripping power of standard grip-lock couplings. To connect, push a plug and a socket (both sold separately) together with a quarter twist. Attach an optional locking ring (sold separately) to the socket for extra protection against accidental disconnection. All of the double grip-lock plugs are compatible with any of the double grip-lock sockets, regardless of the pipe size or barbed hose ID. Plugs and sockets are zinc-plated steel, which is strong and durable. They have fair corrosion resistance, so they should be used primarily in dry environments.
Sockets have a spring-loaded locking sleeve that automatically locks into place when you connect the coupling. To disconnect, slide the locking sleeve back and twist the coupling apart.

They can handle higher-pressures than twist-claw couplings, and have a lower profile to fit in cramped spaces. All of the grip-lock plugs are compatible with any of the grip-lock sockets, regardless of the pipe size or barbed hose ID.
