Moisture-Resistant Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheets, Bars, and Strips

Practically nonabsorbent, these sheets, bars, and strips won't swell when exposed to water. They’re harder and denser than LDPE, plus they’re more chemical resistant. They are often machined into plugs, seals, and containers.
If you don't see the size you're looking for, please specify length and width under additional sheet sizes.

Also known as pipe-grade HDPE, these sheets are about four times more impact resistant than standard HDPE and hold up outdoors, and in wet environments. While other high-impact plastics such as LDPE, UHMW, and ABS can’t be used outdoors, these sheets will not swell when exposed to water. They resist chemicals and contain carbon black, so they will not break down from UV exposure. These sheets are often used to make stub ends, gussets, end caps, flanges, tanks, and containers. Weld them using extrusion, hot gas, and speed tip welding methods and easily fabricate them with standard woodworking tools.

Marine-Grade Moisture-Resistant Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheets and Bars

- Color: See Table
- Maximum Temperature: 180° F
- Tensile Strength: 4,100 psi (Poor)
- Impact Strength: 1.1 ft.-lbs./in. (Poor)
- Hardness: Durometer 68D (Medium)
- For Use Outdoors: Yes
- Specifications Met: ASTM D4976, UL 94 HB
Also known as starboard, these sheets and bars won’t degrade when exposed to salt water, humidity, and UV light. They’re more rigid than standard HDPE sheets and bars, and have a coarse texture that masks scuffs and scratches.
