How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Metal Barbed Hose Fittings for Air and Water
Slide the barbed end into rubber hose and secure with the appropriate clamp or crimp-on hose ferrule.
Zinc-plated steel fittings are stronger and more durable than other metal fittings. They have fair corrosion resistance, so they should be used primarily in dry environments.
Brass fittings are softer than other metal fittings, so they’re easier to thread together. Plain brass fittings have good corrosion resistance. Nickel-plated brass fittings resist corrosion better than plain brass fittings.
Aluminum fittings are lighter in weight than other metal fittings. They have good corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel fittings have very good corrosion resistance. 303 stainless steel fittings won’t rust when exposed to water, making them good for areas that require frequent cleanings. 303/304 stainless steel fittings also stand up to wet and high-humidity environments, and are more corrosion resistant than 303 stainless steel fittings.
Fittings that swivel until tightened rotate 360° for easy installation. Fittings with a threaded end are also known as hose nipples.
Fittings with a 45° flared end are also known as refrigeration and SAE fittings.
Hose connectors are also known as hose menders and splicers. Use them to connect lengths of hose or to repair damaged hose.
NPTF (Dryseal) threads are compatible with NPT threads. Metric, UN/UNF (SAE), and BSPP male threads with gasket protect against leaks. UN/UNF (SAE) threads are also known as O-ring boss threads.

Plastic Barbed Hose Fittings for Water
Made of polypropylene, these fittings have good corrosion and abrasion resistance, and are lighter in weight than metal barbed hose fittings. Slide the barbed end into plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp.
Fittings with a threaded end are also known as hose nipples.

Metal Push-On Barbed Hose Fittings for Air and Water
Fittings have sharper barbs than standard barbed hose fittings to grip rubber push-on hose with no clamps or ferrules required. The more you pull on the fittings, the tighter the hose will grip.
Brass fittings are softer than other metal fittings, so they’re easier to thread together. They have good corrosion resistance.Fittings with a threaded end are also known as hose nipples.Hose connectors are also known as hose menders and splicers. Use them to join two lengths of hose or to repair damaged hose.
The optional installation tool (sold separately) allows you to connect large quantities of barbed fittings to push-on hose. Use the built-in cutter to squarely cut the hose without fraying. Then, clamp the hose into the tool’s vise and apply light pressure on the handle to drive into the fitting.
NPTF (Dryseal) threads are compatible with NPT threads.
Note: To ensure proper connection, the barbed end has to be pushed in all the way, with the hose end concealed by the ring.

Tight-Seal Barbed Hose Fittings for Air and Water
Also known as ball-seat hose nipples, these fittings consist of a barbed shaft with a rounded end that sits inside a female threaded nut. When mated with a male threaded fitting, the rounded end presses tightly against the inside of the male threads for a better seal than a single-piece fitting. Once assembled, insert the barbed end into rubber hose and secure with a clamp or a crimp-on hose ferrule. The nut swivels until tightened for easy installation. Fittings are brass for good corrosion resistance.
NPSM (National Pipe Straight Mechanical) female threads are compatible with male NPT and NPTF (Dryseal) threads.

Industrial Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Air

A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately or in a set) that connect and disconnect quickly. Use them if you need frequent access to a line. They are also known as industrial interchange couplings. All Industrial plugs are compatible with any of the Industrial sockets of the same coupling size, regardless of the pipe size or barbed hose ID.
Steel is stronger and more durable than other metals. Zinc-plated steel has fair corrosion resistance and should be used primarily in dry environments. Brass is softer than other metals, so it’s easier to thread together. It has good corrosion resistance. Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.

Sockets have a shut-off valve that stops the flow when the coupling is separated, so air won’t leak from the line.
Plugs and sockets with a clamp-on/crimp-on barbed end insert into rubber hose and secure with a clamp or a crimp-on hose ferrule.
Push-to-connect sockets join by forcefully pushing the plug and socket together until you hear a click. Unlike sleeve-lock sockets, you should not slide back the sleeve to connect. To disconnect, slide the sleeve on the socket forward until the plug ejects.

Barbed Hose Fittings for Compressed Gas
Commonly used in low-pressure welding applications, these fittings connect downstream of your tank and pressure regulator. Slide the barbed end into rubber hose and secure with a crimp-on hose ferrule. Fittings are brass for good corrosion resistance.
Adapters let you adapt to a threaded end so you can connect welding hose to torches or pressure regulators. They consist of a barbed shaft with a rounded end that sits inside a threaded CGA nut (sold separately) so you can make a threaded hose connection.

Hose Crimping Tool and Fitting Sets for Compressed Gas

Sets contain a crimping tool and a variety of fittings, nuts, and ferrules so you can connect pressure regulators, torches, and other components of your welding system. Fittings are also known as CGA (Compressed Gas Association) fittings. They are brass for good corrosion resistance.
Barbed adapters let you adapt to a threaded end so you can connect welding hose to pressure regulators or torches. They consist of a barbed shaft with a rounded end that sits inside a threaded nut so you can make a threaded hose connection.
Barbed connectors are also known as hose menders and splicers. Use them to connect lengths of hose or to repair damaged hose. Slide the barbed end into welding hose and use a hose ferrule and the crimping tool to secure the fitting to hose.
Threaded connectors let you attach threaded welding hose to pressure regulators and torches.
Fittings with left-hand threads are identified with a notch in the nut.
Note: Fittings have a CGA number that corresponds to a specific type of gas. Choose a fitting with the same CGA number as your tank and other system components.

Drinking Water Hose Fittings
Fittings meet NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for drinking (potable) water. They are brass, which offers good corrosion resistance. Slide the barbed end into plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp or a crimp-on hose ferrule.
Fittings with a threaded pipe end are also known as hose nipples.
Hose connectors are also known as hose menders and splicers. Use them to connect lengths of hose or to repair damaged hose.

Barbed Hose Fittings for Steam
Use these barbed fittings in low-pressure steam heating, humidification, and washdown applications up to 150 psi. Slide the barbed end into plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp. Also known as hose nipples, they adapt a barbed end to a threaded end.
Zinc-plated steel fittings have fair corrosion resistance and are stronger and more durable than other metal fittings. Aluminum fittings are lighter in weight than other metal fittings and have good corrosion resistance. 303/304 stainless steel fittings have very good corrosion resistance.

Plastic Quick-Disconnect Tube Couplings for Air and Water

Lighter in weight than their metal counterparts, these quick-disconnect couplings are plastic. They consist of a plug and a socket that allow you to frequently connect and disconnect your line.
Latch-lock sockets disconnect by pressing the latch.
Acetal plugs and sockets are moisture resistant, so they won’t absorb water and lose strength, even in high-humidity environments. Note: For a complete coupling, order a plug and a socket with the same coupling size.
