Flexible Metal Conduit for Fiber Optic Cable
Protect fiber optic cable with this small-diameter conduit. Made of 304 stainless steel, it’s flexible enough to weave through tight spaces but strong enough to resist over-bending, so it won’t disrupt signals. Rated IP68, it’s dust tight, submersible in water for extended periods, and withstands high-pressure washdowns.
Conduit with a PVC cover is stretch resistant to protect cable from damage during installation. It also resists compression and impact for use in tight spaces that may shift over time, and resists UV light for use outdoors. This conduit does not resist oil or chemicals as well as conduit with a silicone cover.
Conduit with a silicone cover won’t absorb oil or chemicals, including the hazardous pulling lubricants commonly used in cable installation. Fiberglass braiding inside this conduit makes it stretch resistant, protecting cable while it’s being installed. The braiding limits conduit flexibility, giving it a wider bend radius than conduit with a PVC cover to provide cable with extra protection from over-bending. This conduit stays flexible at high temperatures, so it’s a common choice for guarding fiber optic cable near heat sources. It’s not as compression or impact resistant as conduit with a PVC cover.
