Anchors for Drywall, Plaster, and Wood Paneling

Also known as wall plugs, these anchors expand when installed to reinforce the hole and resist stripping. They have a ridged body with fins that prevent spinning during installation. Install flush with the surface. Then, thread a screw through your fixture and into the anchor. To determine screw length, add the anchor length to the fixture thickness and choose a screw equal to or longer than this.

Removable-Screw Anchors for Drywall, Plaster, and Wood Paneling

A drilled hole is required for installation. Screws can be removed repeatedly without affecting the anchor. To install, tap the anchor into the material until flush. Insert a screw and turn it to expand the anchor. For high volume tasks, use the optional installation tool—it doesn't require any twisting. Pull-out strength and shear strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

These anchors fit a range of sheet metal and wood screw sizes since they form their own threads when installed. To install, fold the anchor in middle, insert into a hole, and tap flush. Thread a screw through your fixture and into the anchor. Extended length is the overall length of the anchor when folded in the middle.
