About Sealant Flexibility

About Files
Files, also known as American-pattern and machinists' files, are used to remove material quickly.
Precision files, also known as Swiss-pattern files, are made to exacting measurements to ensure smoothness and are useful for finishing delicate and intricate parts.

All-Weather Application Sealants

Apply these sealants on wet surfaces and in cold temperatures. They’re non-sagging, so they won't drip from vertical and overhead surfaces.
Sealants with 1,000% elongation can be applied through running water.
Elongation and joint compression/expansion tolerance indicate flexibility—the higher the values are, the more joint movement sealants can sustain. Sealants that are good for joining dissimilar materials also work well in environments with wide temperature fluctuation.
Sealants that cannot be sold to the regions listed are restricted by local chemical regulations, including limits on VOC (volatile organic compounds).

Non-Hardening Caulk
Also known as thumb-grade caulk, this forms a non-hardening, moisture-resistant seal that remains pliable.
Butyl rubber has a sticky, gummy consistency.

Electrical-Insulating Rectangular Files
Faces,
Single-Cut Edges
An insulated handle protects against shock from accidental contact with live electrical circuits. These files are tested to 1,000 volts to meet ASTM F1505. The faces have two sets of diagonal teeth for rapid material removal; the edges have one set of diagonal teeth for slow material removal and sharpening tool-cutting surfaces.
